About this Cook
I come from a long line of women that can't cook. I've been using allrecipes.com especially the reviews and the quality of my cooking is going through the roof. Thanks to everyone for their reviews, it helps to understand the recipes better.
My favorite things to cook
Sticky chicken, cinnamon rolls, stuffed pork chops and if I ever get the hang of it...BREAD!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Burying Thanksgiving turkeys, emergency take out, empty fridges.
My cooking triumphs
Getting good enough that people ask me for my recipes! Understanding what I am doing enough to modify it and it come out better than the recipe. Finally feeling confident in the kitchen.
My cooking tragedies
Tripling a recipe for the sauce for mongolian beef, but multiplying the soy sauce times SIX. egads! Unable to be salvaged. Twice trying to make bread and ending up with a gloppy, unrisen, frightening mess.

Green Chili Roast
Even on high it took more than 4 hours to become tender, so expect that possibility. As it had not been reviewed yet, I asked the family and pretty much everyone thought it was just Ok.

Roasted Lemon Herb Chicken
This was quite tasty, having to transport it and smell it the whole way was positively torture. It was very easy and a great return on the time/effort. Make sure you have bread as the drippings/sauce is delicious.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts
I'm terrible with cookies, but these were absolutely perfect. The dough was easy to put together and rolled out and cut beautifully. Even in my wonky oven they cooked right at 14 minutes. Easy peasy and I'll definitely make these again.
