Holuski

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
WOW! I had never heard of this dish before today but it is going to be added to my recipe repertoire. Simple and so delicious. I didn't have egg noodles so used some angel hair pasta, sauted my cabbage with the butter and onions (as suggested by other reviewers), and added some Italian sausage (because it's what I had on hand), and it was a delightful meal. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chocolate Trifle

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
All I can say is that this is a huge hit whenever I make it and with whoever I make it for. I always add lots of toffee candy bar bits to it because I love them and love the crunch they provide. Other than that, I make just as written. Phenomenal and easy dessert that holds up even a few days later!

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
This is one of the best baked chicken recipes I have found. It is absolutely delicious, the combination of flavors combining to make something so much better than you can imagine. I was afraid it would be too sweet or that the curry flavor would be too strong but no one ingredient takes charge of the taste. I was pleased as punch with the results and will be making this again!

Vegan Curried Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I had such high hopes for this becoming a great regular in my line up but it just didn't turn out good. It may have been chef error, and I may try it again, but I found the rice did not want to get soft and the texture with the seasonings was a bit gritty.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
My mom and I just canned chicken and I decided to look for a good chicken and rice soup recipe. I made this last night and I must say it is a winner! Very delicious and hearty without feeling too heavy. It is flavorful and just plain delightful! I will be making this all through the winter.

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
The name says it all. I don't even buy pasta sauce anymore. This is now my standard. If I need sauce without meat in it...I simply omit the meat and it's still incredible. Wonderful recipe!

Dad's Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This is very tasty and easy to make. It completely took me back to my mom's kitchen and to this standard she used to make for supper every couple of weeks. The only addition I made was throwing in a teaspoon of paprika and some mushrooms for a twist. VERY good!

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2010
This soup is absolutely wonderful! A simple but perfect soup. I did make two changes: I did half milk and half heavy whipping cream, and I added a 1/2 pound of velveeta. I felt guilty about that last one, but it didn't make the soup super "cheesy", it just added some color and flavor. I fed this to a group of 12 teenagers and most of them said they didn't like broccoli and were shocked at how much they loved the soup. The bowls came back to the kitchen clean! Thanks for the great recipe! It will be used again in this household.

The Best Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2008
I tried this recipe this weekend and it was met with rave reviews at the carry-in I took it to. It's so easy and so delicious. It was a hit and will be made many times in my kitchen. As other reviewers have mentioned, there may be some typos in the recipe. I did not add 14 bananas but added 4 instead. I also followed the pudding instructions and put in three cups of milk. The second time I made the recipe (that's right I made it twice in three days!) I only added 2 teaspoons of vanilla and liked that better. Great recipe though!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2006
I have never had anything but poor luck with chocolate chip cookies. They turn out flat as pancakes and hard as rocks. This recipe gave me my first successful experience. I couldn't believe my eyes. Awesome taste and awesome appearance. I didn't add any walnuts and I didn't have enough butter so used crisco, and they still turned out great!
