Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
this recipe is FANTASTIC. I don't really like bell peppers. But I belong to a food co-op and I recieved 13 of these suckers and needed to think up something different to make with them. I used 4 of them for this recipe...OMG Its my new favorite sauce. I couldnt stop eating it last night, in fact I licked the spoon after I put the left overs away. ITS FANTASTIC. I only changed a few things because of what I had on hand 1. I used dried basil 2. used whole milk and some flour instead of half and half 3. used parm cheese 4. used only 1 T of butter. Served over pasta and with Fish! YUMMMM!!! I cant wait to eat it again tonight and I cant wait to make it again!! SOOOO easy! Make this sauce, you will NOT regret it!

Old Bay® Shrimp Fest

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
I almost feel bad reviewing this recipe. I followed it to a t and I was soooo looking forward to eating it. It smelt sooooooo good! I LOVE shrimp. but i was disappointed. I am going to try this again but next time I am not going to leave the skins on the shrimp. My shrimp had NO flavor. I threw it all away. Myself and my husband loved the flavor of everything else. the potatoes were Fantastic. I am going to try this again but with a few changes.

Hot Onion Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
i follow this recipe to the t...although sometimes i do use an italian cheese blend. I get RAVE reviews everytime I make it. I bake it in the pampered chef mini baker stoneware...its great because it keeps it warm longer! This dip is soooooooooooooo good and so easy to make! everyone ate this with chips and veggies and I even saw some people putting it on their tacos...very versatile!

Cabbage Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I feel almost as though I should rate this recipe as I did not follow is exactly. In fact I basically only used it as a base/ IDEA for a recipe. I added A LOT to it because I was not in the mood for runny and I wanted something thicker. I was craving cabbage and chili type dinner. I added pinto and black beans as i do not like kidney beans, 3/4 of a can of corn (used the rest for corn bread), 8oz of tomato sauce, one can of diced tomatoes, small zucchini, and 1 cup of rice and i used chicken stock instead of the beef cubes and water because i had some on hand that needed to be used up. it tasted sooooooooooo good. I just melted some cheese on it. I cant wait for the left overs at lunch

Mock Chicken Fried Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
This tasted sooooooooooooo good. I NEVER fry anything but i did this and I am glad. I did not measure any of the seasonings i just eyeballed it. I did add minced garlic, onion, mrs dash seasoning and some shredded cheese to the meat mixture. I had a few issues in making this, all my fault! I had problems with my crumbs that fell off burning in the oil, in moving the hot oil in the skillet to a different burning i dripped some and it caught on fire....OOPS, and i made mashed potatoes with it and burnt my stomach with boiling water, I was having a BAD night last night. But when I sat down with my husband to eat it and he ate THREE..it made it all worth it! so tasty and will DEFINITELY make again. I also threw these in the oven at 350 for 10 or 15 minutes on a cookie sheet to make sure they were fully cook

Cream Puff Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2008
I made this for my husband for Valentine's Day. I ended up making two 9" pies instead with it. Turned out so tasty. Baked for 20 minutes. I let the cream cheese get to room temp before trying to blend it with the milk. used my hand mixer and had little/no clumps. I melted 2 herseys milk chocolate bars with alittle butter to make a "sauce" to put on the shell. After cooled the sauce hardened and gave alittle crunch to the pie...so good. It looked so professional and tasted so good. I took one of the pies to my inlaws since they watched my daughter so we could have dinner alone. My Mother in law said it was her favorite pie EVER and didnt want to share with anyone. and my husband who isnt a big dessert or sweets fan loved it.

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2008
I started making it and realized I had no sour cream and it was pouring outside so I made it with what I had on hand. I put half a can of milk in the mixture and I pureed some califlower with a splash of milk in my magic bullet. I did this mainly because I have a SUPER picky toddler who wont eat vegetables so I hide them in her food when I can. I didnt saute the cracker crumbs in butter, Instead I used about a cup of cheese on top of the casserole and then crumbed some ritz crackers on top of that (my toddler helped with this part). smelled really good. I pulled it out of the over early as it started to dry out. next time i will add alittle more milk of make sure i have sour cream on hand. all in all a good easy meal. the ultimate test to me is if my daughter will eat it...and she did! so it get 5 stars just for that alone!!

Baklava

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2007
I was surprised this turned out ok for me. For one I had NO clue what so ever what I was doing. And TWO i feel asleep while they were baking and didnt hear the timer go off....i woke up after they had been baking for an hour and a half. OOPS. still tasted good. I put a little bit of orange zest in the sauce for a little bit of a twist to normal baklava. I did make the sauce before preparing the baklava and followed someone elses suggestion only cutting them half way down so they wouldnt get soggy and cut them all the way the next morning. I cant wait to give this out as a christmas gift this year!!

Pretzel Turtles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2007
WOW! I spent 2 weeks making a list of christmas cookies and candies to make. I planned on starting my baking today, well unexpectedly was up earlier then I thought with a sick toddler finding it hard to find any time to bake. I started with these since they were the easiest....and after tasting them they are probably THE BEST! I used waffle pretzels, Rolos and I drizzled white and milk chocolate over them. They look like i spent a ton of money on them. OMG they are gooooooooooood!!!!!!!!! So pretty too. I will post a picture of them later!!!!!!!!!

Bacon Cheeseburger Roll-Up

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
Very good, simple recipe. Made it on a weeknight after work. Tasted great. I did add half a can of diced tomatoes. The best part was the fact that my picky 18 month old who isnt a meat fan gobbled it up. I let her dip it in ketchup. I will make this again!!!

very good pie but a little messY when baking. I put a cookie sheet under my pies when I bake them. thank gosh I did of I would have had to clean a big mess. tasted amazing and well worth the mess. I only used 6 apples but wish i had used at least one more. I also added cinnamon and nutmeg to the sauce when boiling it.

Best Ever Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
this pie crust truely is the best pie crust ever!!!!! My husband LOVES it. So much in fact I have made 3 peach pies, a strawberry rhubarb pie AND a chicken pot pie with it in ONE WEEK!!!! i recommend mixing it all and throwing it in the freezer for 30 or 45 minutes and them rolling it out. i roll it out on floured wax paper that way I can flip the wax paper over and position it on the pie pan before removing it. bakes up great and taste so wonderful!!!

Sunshine Toast

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
I grew up on this but my parents always called it "Egg in a Basket" I now make it for my daughter. We do a few things different though. I butter only one side of the bread before cutting the circle out. I brown the circle as well (its a mini piece of buttered toast) and we sometimes put syrup on the bread before eating it!! anyway its very tasty and my 1 1/2 year old loves it!!!!!!

Mock Lemon Chiffon Cake

Reviewed: May 30, 2007
this cake is simply amazing. I made it for a memorial day bbq. I originally thought it may have been too much since there were only 6 people there but everyone had seconds and there was only one piece left for me to take home. I am debating on making it again today....just because! its so tasty...i loved it!! also many reviewers complained about the frosting not being firm enough. i refridgerated the pudding and them when i mixed in the whipped cream topping and put it in the freezer to thicken it up some. turned out perfect!!! review edit: I made this cake again with jello brand pudding...BIG mistake. the "frosting" was so runny and i couldnt get it firm. i made another one the same day with generic lemon pudding...it turned out amazing!!! so i HIGHLY recommend using the generic pudding...its cheaper, it taste better, and it looks better....not to mention its easier to work with!!!

I made these crepes this morning because I have been craving crepes for weeks. My one year old ate them up. She loved them and even tried to eat some of mine while I was eating. I spread strawberry jam then filled with fresh strawberries, blackberries, and banana's then sprinkled with powdered sugar!....tasted soooooo good!!! Will definitely make again. Thanks for the recipe!!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2006
I made this for thanksgiving dinner! I couldn't get my raspberry preserves to "swirl" so I did a simple spiral pattern with it instead. after baking and cooling in the fridge overnight I went back over my raspberry spiral to add more and I did whipcream flowers along the edge and placed white chocolate chips along the edge as well. it turned out amazing and tasted sooooo good. was fun and easy to make! only suggestion I would make is to use a lot of preseves or fresh raspberries if you want to be able to taste it. This cheesecake was tasty and creamy. Everyone LOVED it!
