Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2006
These are by far the best whole wheat pancakes ever. I had to add about 1/3 more cup of milk so that they would be thin enough.

Pizza Without the Red Sauce

Delicious. We loved the recipe. I did not use the jalapeno pepper.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
I have made this twice now and absolutely love it. I only added one sliced lemon w/ the onion inside the chicken. My husband and my son think it is the best. Thanks for a great recipe.

Turkey Tetrazzini II

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2007
I added about 1 cup of mixed veggies (I scaled the recipe down to 2 people) and some minced onion and garlic powder. I also used whole wheat penne pasta. My 2 1/2 year old yummed it up like I have never seen him eat. Thanks.

Zucchini Cake III

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2007
Wow - this is soooo good. I used fresh pineapple, because that was all I had. Very moist and delicious. I didn't even use the glaze, it didn't need it. My husband and 2 1/2yr. old son gave it two thumbs up. Thanks for a great recipe.

Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2007
These were ok, but I have had better. The flavor was good, but the biscuit was a little too dry.

Cheesy Zucchini Casserole I

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2007
This was very good. I took it to a church meal and everyone yummed it up. There were only a few crumbs leftover. Several people asked me for the recipe. I used some yellow squash w/ the zucchini. I doubled the recipe except for the cheese, although I think between the yellow squash and the zucchini I had about 7 cups of veggies. I split the cheese and put half inside and half on top. I thought it was delicious. Thanks for a great recipe.

Strawberry-Sauced Crunchy Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
This was ok. Too many apples. I will definitely make it again, but with peaches and other fruits instead of the apples. The strawberry glaze and the crunch are delicious. The oranges in the salad were my favorite part.

Three Berry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
Ok, the berries were good, but needed about another half cup of sugar. I used the 1/4 cup of cornstarch and I might as well have not used anything. It was way too watery. I even let it sit for about 7 hours before cutting.

Caramel Apple Pie II

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2007
This pie is very good. My husband is a very traditional pie person, but he was like, man, this is good. I had to bake it about 20 minutes longer to get the apples cooked all the way. I added 1 extra Tablespoon of flour to the apples and cut the sugar in half and it was not runny at all. Turned out extra special for a nice fall day.

Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
These are so good. I did not believe the write that said they were addicting. She was right and I was wrong. They are very addicting. I can't wait to try them on my asian chicken salad. Thanks for a great recipe. I did put half vanilla and half water for the amount of water used and 2 egg whites.

Balsamic Vinaigrette

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2007
I thought this was very good. I added about 1 T of Grey Poupon Course Ground Mustard and 1 T of honey. I halved the recipe as it makes alot. I also used the dark balsamic vinegar. Yummy. Thanks for a great recipe.

Absolutely Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2007
These are delicious brownies. The only thing I did differently was to take the advice of a few other bakers and use regular flour instead of self rising. I love soft chewy brownies, and these are the ones. Thanks for a great recipe.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
Definitely 5 stars. Didn't change a thing in the recipe. Delicious with orzo pasta and homeade rolls. My 3 year old son even yummed it up and he isn't a big meat fan. Thanks so much for a great recipe.

Not Red Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2008
This was very good. I would give it 4 1/2 stars if I could. The only thing I changed was I used 8 oz. of mushrooms and red wine instead of the sherry, since I didn't have any at the time. My husband and I actually enjoyed it the more we ate it. I think the name of the recipe played with our minds a little bit.

Chocolate Waffles I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2008
I gave this 4 stars because I thought they were ok, but nothing spectacular. I followed LISSALU changes. I used half n half in place of the milk because I had some that I needed to use up. My three year old loved them. I could barely eat one as they were very heavy. I think the chocolate chips helped.

Cake Mixes from Scratch and Variations

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This was ok. Not great, but better than nothing. I used oil instead of the shortening and I used 1/2 cup of half n half in addition to the 1 cup milk. I still think a box cake is better.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
This was very good. I added one sweet potato to the mix because it needed to be used up. I also added 2 cloves of garlic. I used 3 beef boullion cubes and added one extra cup of water. I omited the warm water and the flour at the end of the recipe and used instant potato flakes. My husband said it was great and my 3 year old ate his right up. Thanks for a good recipe.
