Best Bread Machine Bread
Foolproof is right! I even forgot to add the salt and the bread still came out light and fluffy. It is in the oven now becoming croutons. But I wanted to say that putting the yeast together with the water first definitely does not fly against all the rules of breadmaking. In fact in all breadmaking apart from bread machines, it is one of the keys to success. It is called "proofing" the yeast. This way you are sure that your yeast is alive before you go through all the trouble of kneading and/or wasting the rest of your ingredients. What you don't want to do is add salt to your water. That can kill the yeast. So add that as per instructions after the flour. Can't wait to try this again later with the salt lol. Thanks for a great recipe and instructions.
