About this Cook
Since I can remember I have always loved cooking and been interested in food. My mom always cooked and I picked skills up from watching and helping her. I love trying new recipes, so my husband is often a guinea pig.
My favorite things to cook
I look for any excuse to bake, and I have a huge sweet tooth.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When we gather with family we usually eat traditional American foods and everyone brings the same recipe year after year (except me)!
My cooking triumphs
I have perfected (at least in my opinion) many baked desserts such as symphony bar brownies, gooey bars, M&M bars, peach meringue pie, etc.
My cooking tragedies
I made a chicken pot pie for a family who just had a baby, and I forgot to put the chicken in it! It was embarrassing explaining that to her.

Scalloped Corn and Broccoli
Excellent with the following modifications: use fresh steamed broccoli instead of frozen, omit sugar, add 4 pieces cooked and chopped bacon, 1/4-1/2 tsp pepper. YUMMY!!!!!

Sausage Balls II
VERY IMPORTANT: COOK/BROWN THE SAUSAGE FIRST IN THE SKILLET!! Then, while the sausage is still warm (and drained if desired), mix with Bisquick and cheese in bowl. Balls form easily and cook in oven for 15 minutes.

Strawberry Spice Loaf
I halved this recipe, and made it healtier. I used 3/4 cup sugar (instead of 1 cup), half whole wheat and half all-purpose flour (instead of all all-purpose), 1/4 cup applesauce and 1/4 oil (instead of all oil). Not overly sweet.
