Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
I also added frozen chicken breasts and shredded toward the end, and used store bought tortilla chips. Had to leave out the cilantro b/c I didn't have any. This was so tasty and easy!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
Awesome! My first attempt at an apple pie and it was delicious. It was a little runny, but I think it's because I didn't have enough apples in there - remember they will cook down so be sure to really mound them up before putting the lattice on.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2010
Awesome! I used more Frank's Red Hot than called for (1C) but followed everything else to a 't' - it was spicy but we couldn't get enough! Ate it with celery (to cool off our mouths) and tostitos scoops.

Easy Tilapia with Wine and Tomatoes

Awesome fish recipe. Used olive oil instead of butter and not quite as much wine as the recipe calls for.

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2009
Yum! I marinated everything together (including the juice from the pineapple)to give the chicken the pineapple flavor and then threw out the pineapple after cooking (we don't care for grilled pineapple). Also used Red Wine Vinegar in place of the Sherry. This is waaaay better and more flavorful than any store bought hawaiian marinade I've tried.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

I'm not a big fan of oatmeal cookies in general (and I hate raisins), but these were excellent! Everyone loves them and they're so simple to make. These are now in my Christmas cookie tin line up!

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
End result is awesome and won the taste test between this recipe and another on this site for sugar cookie icing by my five year old. However, this was VERY sticky and thick - I also had to add extra milk and syrup like other reviewers. I made the simple syrup another reviewer suggested since I didn't have corn syrup. It seemed to work just fine, but it hardened up on me before I could even crank out my third batch of frosting :( Had to switch to another recipe that didn't call for corn syrup - tasted good but didn't harden like this one.

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
We loved these! My five year old daughter made them and they turned out wonderfully! Not as doughy as some peanut butter cookies, which is what I liked about them, plus the fact that they can be whipped up in no time with ingredients that are normally on hand. My sister with Celiac's disease (can't have gluten/flour) was so happy to find a gluten free cookie recipe that actually tastes good!

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2008
Great tasting and looks great on sugar cookies - reminds me of the frosting on a popular store brand cake-like cookie (Lofthouse)that my kids just love. I always use it on our Halloween pumpkin shaped cut out cookies.

Buckeye Balls II

A gluten free cookie recipe! Yea! I have a sister with Celiacs disease, so these are a perfect and absolutely delicious cookie that she can enjoy at the holidays. The rest of us gobble them up, too :) Great recipe and super simple - I heat the chocolate/shortning in a glass bowl in the microwave, just giving it additional zaps when the chocolate starts to harden up.

Stove-Top Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I added parmesan and *gasp* Velveeta to give this some flavor (very bland before I added extras). Kiddos and hubby did not care for this at all(with or without extras), but I liked it once it had a little more flavor.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2007
I've been using this recipe for years. My 3 year old and I make this for most of our family get togethers - it's delicious and it tastes much harder to make than it is. I'm going to try and lighten it up next time, though - skim milk, cool whip free, maybe fat free/sugar free pudding?

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2007
These were great! Tasted very similar to the ones I love at Chilis. A few substitutions - I used fresh ginger, as I couldn't find the pickled kind, Romaine letuce and chopped boneless skinless chicken breast. Yummy!

BBQ Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2006
I thought this was great, and easy, too! I only used 2 grilled chicken breasts, left over sweet corn on the cob, and celery, and I made the sauce with reg. mayo and Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce. enough for my hubby and I with some left over for his lunch. Very original recipe and handy when you don't have a lot of ingredients :)

A little bland, but every child I've ever served these to LOVES them! My first batch (or two) were a little uneven, but once I got the hang of it, they turned out beautifully.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2006
If I could give this more stars, I would. This is the best recipe I've gotten from this site. I serve it with warm homemade french bread (had to find a reason to use my breadmaker) and the dish always gets scraped clean.
