Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2003
Did a few things differently. Used 1 can tomatoes but whizzed in blender, added 1 8oz can t. sauce, 1/2 all spices but rosemary simmered longer. Served over pasta, very good flavor. I think those who said it smelled "funny", didn't let it simmer long enough. My husband HATES all vinegar and he liked this.

Asian Beef with Snow Peas

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2003
Maybe i misunderstood "rice wine" I used seasoned rice wine vinegar, and it was a bit too vinigary for me and I LOVE vinegar. If you either leave that out or cut it in 1/2, good basic recipe. Also used green beans as that is what the garden is giving me right now.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2003
Don't get me wrong, these were good, but not all that I expected after all the reviews I read. They need more tomato, less cheese, and something else to kick it up. Better lukewarm than hot too. I'd try them again, but with some doctoring.

With help, good dish. I added garlic, 2 eggs, shredded carrots, and mozzerella and parmesan cheese to mixture. Used 1 jar spaghetti sauce. Smothered it in cheese, refrigerate for 2-3 hours, baked 45mnts-1 hour. Hits the spot on a cold rainy day.

Ricotta Fettuccine Alfredo with Broccoli

Reviewed: May 29, 2003
Not bad for lower fat. I used romano cheese instead of parm, needed more salt, but all in all, well worth the trip to the store for ingredients.

Quick Chicken Divan

Reviewed: May 5, 2003
I made this differently than stated. Used only 1 can cr. chix soup, all lemon juice, 1/2amount of mayo, little milk to thin, 2 breast halfs, uncooked fresh broccoli. Served over brown rice, kids loved it, even fussy hubby said had "great flavor, really good" If that isn't a great testimony nothing is.

Cola Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2003
Good flavor, but I agree, sauce is kind of sweet. Either use more chix broth or less cola. Kids loved it, very easy, I used skinless breast's and cooked 15 minutes. Worth another shot if you ask me.

Grated Potato Dumplings

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
Maybe my potatoes were bigger, or something, but these looked great going into the water. However fell apart and were VERY soft coming out. More flour? add an egg? Hubby and kids liked them , but they need more spice like parsley. Not unedible, but need some work. I'll try them again.

Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
I cooked my roast overnight in the crockpot w/ 1 can broth and bayleaves. Only used 1/2 the roast and frozen vegies, strained broth from pot, fat lifted off,& three potatoes cubed. It filled my pot to the rim. Was ready in three hours but added some mashed potato flakes to thicken a bit. sure didn't look appetizing but tasted fantastic. Even my kids liked it. I just wish it was thicker. would make it again.

Asian Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2003
I double everything except the noodles, and browned the chicken with garlic to give more flavor. I used 1 can broth, three cans water and two chix bouillion cubes. I though the egg was kinda wierd so I'd leave it out next time. Great flavored soup, served it with potstickers, but not something i'd make again.
