Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

A little salty for my tastes, but my family absolutely loved it. It was very easy and quick to make, which is a plus. I didn't have onion powder, but they still liked it.

Tomato Zucchini Casserole

OH YEAH! Zucchini has never tasted this good! I didn't have fresh tomatoes, so I used canned diced tomatoes. Everything came out great!

Bacon for the Family or a Crowd

This is a great way to make bacon. Since I found out about this method, I've never gone back to the frying pan. I don't bother to line the pan with foil. I've also found that you can really crowd the bacon in--it shrinks as it cooks.

Pumpkin Pancakes

Extreme Chocolate Cake

This cake is by far the best I've ever made or bought from a bakery. It is so flavorful, rich, and moist. I cut the frosting in half (I didn't want four layers of cake, only two) and I still had more than I needed.

Beer Bread I

WOW!! I would give this recipe 6 stars if I could, because it was so easy and only had a few ingredients. We used a strong wheat beer and the taste was amazing. I didn't have any self-rising flour either, so I took another reviewer's suggestion and added 1 Tbsp of baking powder and 1 tsp of salt. It rose just fine in the oven.

My Amish Friend's Caramel Corn

Very good! I didn't have peanuts so I substituted thin-sliced almonds. Most of them ended up stuck to the bottom of the pan, so I wouldn't recommend using them. Next time I will used peanuts!

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

This recipe is outstanding! To be honest, I thought it was going to be bland based on the small number of ingredients and the simple steps. It turned out to be the best chicken parm I've ever had (and it was even better for lunch the next day)! I used mozzerella cheese over the top because that was all I had, but other than that, no changes.

Pizza Dough III

This pizza crust was so good! I didnt bother to let the yeast sit for 10 minutes, I just mixed everything together and let it rise for 20 minutes. I baked it on my pizza stone with sauce, cheese, and toppings--my husband was so impressed, and he is picky!

Death By Garlic

I used shredded spaghetti squash instead of pasta for this dish and cut the recipe in half for one whole squash. I added smoked sausage, but didn't have any cheese. It was WONDERFUL! My husband had three helpings. I can't wait to try it with cheese. If you decide to use spaghetti squash, you may want to use less oil. It seems like the squash soaks it up and it can get kind of greasy.

Spicy Spaghetti Squash

I made few changes--microwaving the squash in a Pyrex container with 1/2 inch of water for 15 minutes, then baking it in the oven for about 10 minutes. The sauce was okay, but we all felt like it needed some basil. The squash itself could use a little seasoning too. This is a good base recipe that I will continue to play with.

Turkey Gyros

This recipe is very healthy and tastes delicious. I used 99% lean turkey tenderloin--it was little dry, but the addition of the sauce (I used nonfat yogurt instead of sour cream) compensated for it. If you don't want to use the sauce, you may want to use a fattier cut of turkey.

Frozen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Balls

An unusual treat if you want to try something different! We dipped ours in chocolate and added valentine sprinkles. As one reviewer recommended, we did add salt and it made a huge difference. I took some to a potluck with a bunch of middle-school age kids and then took the rest to work. They were a hit with everyone.

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

This salad is very good. I have had spinach and strawberry salads before that I didn't enjoy--they were always served with a bottled dressing that was too sweet. The dressing for this recipe is just sweet enough. At first I thought the worcestershire sauce would taste weird with it, but it enhanced the flavor and added to the dish.

Turkey Lettuce Wraps with Shiitake Mushrooms

Outstanding! I've made this twice now, omitting the brown sugar and mai fun to make the filling lighter. Everyone (including the kids) was surprised at how good it is, even those who don't like ground turkey. I am making it a third time as a hot appetizer for Easter dinner.

Cinnamon Rolls II

Excellent rolls! I let them rise for 2 hours, but they didn't grow much larger. I finally gave up and put them in the oven--they really puffed up there! I would recommend not using a dark pan. The sugar leaked out and burned. I used a white pan the second time and it was much better.
