Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
Salty! Oh my gosh this is salty-3 tsp would have been enough. In the restaurant I use to work at we added 1 TBSP sugar and 1 TBSP chili powder (along with 1/4 cup oil or lard) Good way to cook them but wish I would have cut back on the salt.

Unbelievable Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
At the most I would call this "OK" Maybe I did something wrong but it just did not have a lot of flavor and was not something I would fix again.

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
I don't know what went wrong but none of us liked the flavor of these. Maybe it depends on which brand of cajun seasoning you use or it could of been the worcestershire, something was off.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
Yummy! This stuff is really good. I had to cook it a lot longer than the 45 minutes to get the top to brown but other than that it was perfect. I didn't have a can of creamed corn so I drained a can of whole corn added a little milk and put it in the blender to chop up, it still turned out really really good.

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2007
WOW! One of the best marinades! Used this on pork tenderloin and the only change I made was to use a whole onion. The flavor was perfect! (It was in the marinade for about 48 hours) We will use this over and over. Put this one in your recipe book!

Mom's Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Really good slaw recipe. I used a big head of cabbage and did not have the problem of being soupy (maybe those bags of shredded cabbage don't have a full head in them)Used 1/3 cup splenda in place of sugar... perfect. My first choice in slaw is "Angies Dads Best Coleslaw" on this site but this comes in a close second and is a nice change from the other one. Very easy to make.

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Love the texture and taste and would have given 5 stars but I changed the salt to 1/8 tsp and that was perfect. I used 1 tsp splenda instead of sugar. And I think it would have been perfect with just a little relish mixed in.

Onion Cheese Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Wonderful flavor, I cut the recipe in half except for the onion (used a whole one) and cooked it in a 8x8 pan. Loved it! This would be a good side dish for a holiday meal.

Honey Mustard Dressing II

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
Awesome recipe, just 4 ingredients that taste so good and can be used so many ways. We had it on green salad and can't wait to try it as a dip with fried chicken tenders or in a potato salad. Very very good and so easy to make.

Sweet Grilled Shrimp Skewers

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
DH gives this one 5 stars, I would give it 4 stars. It was good, very sweet. I think the flavor was good but it overpowered the shrimp flavor and I love the flavor of shrimp.

Shrimp Marinaders

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2007
Really good appetizer-very easy to make-It only marinated for about 5 hours but had a good flavor-I used Tiger sauce(a Louisiana product) for the hot sauce and think I'll add more than the 2 tsp next time.

Marinated Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
Good flavor and nice color, I used 7-up and let the breast marinate for about 8 hours. That was long enough because it had a strong flavor, I think I would cut back just a little on the soy sauce. I couldn't even tell that it had the horseradish in the mix.

Souvlaki

Pork was very tender and it had a good flavor. I marinated it about 8 hours. Next time I think I would cut back just a little on the oregano.

Cajun Chicken

We loved the flavor this marinade gave the chicken breast. It sat in the marinade for about 4 hours and was perfect. Another good recipe for my box!

Italian Style Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2007
Cut this recipe in half and still had leftover butter and cracker mixture. It had a really good flavor but found the meat a little tough. Don't know if I will fix it again, if I do it will be with pork chops that are thin cut.

Onion Pasta

We loved this pasta, we made it with all 5 onions (we love onions) and the only change was to use 3 bouillon cubes in place of Tbsp of bouillon. Sooooo good!

Polynesian Sausage Supper

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2007
Lots of flavor and like others I think it would be very good with chicken in place of the sausage. It was good, I liked it but doubt I would fix it again. I think its just a matter of taste and its not the kind of meal we would want very often.
