Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
Love this recipe! I used the reviews of K Praper and Chars3girls (look under most helpful) and mixed by hand and they came out perfect. Don't pass this recipe up because you don't have a bread machine or mixer, you don't need them. Family loved them!

Monkey Bread I

Good recipe! I left out the nuts and raisins and it was good without them. The butter/brown sugar was a little grainy.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2007
This is what Autumn taste like! Love this... bread/cake? I followed the recipe except that I did not have any ground cloves so I left it out. Soooo good! Cooked mine in 2 9x13 pans for 65 minutes. Next time I will try some of the recommended changes from the reviews. Thanks for sharing this really great recipe.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2007
Not the best but OK. It had a strong salsa taste to it, maybe it was the brand of salsa I used... It really needs more onion, 2 Tbsp was not enough. Don't know if I would make it again.

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2007
We LOVED these potatoes! I cut back on the salt and layered the potatoes and onions in a 9x9 pan and it came out so creamy! The best scalloped potatoes I've ever had... I'll be saving this recipe to make again.

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2007
Put this one in your recipe box... perfect mix of seasoning for a pound of ground beef. Mix up a large jar and use 2 1/2 Tbsp instead of the taco seasoning package from the store.

Buttermilk Pralines

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
Good praline recipe! Very important to follow the recipe cooking to temps, stirring, and beat the almost 8 min. (even if arm feels like it is going to fall off)Give it time to cool off and set up. Very good!

Golden Sweet Cornbread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
I used (3/4 cup sugar instead of 2/3 cup) (1/4 cup oil instead of 1/3 cup) and (3 tsp baking powder instead of 3 1/2 tsp.) It had either to much salt or to much baking powder, not sure which but there was something off. One hint: put your oil in your skillet and roll around to coat then pour into the batter and mix.

Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
Great football food! 5 stars for the idea alone. I used the Pillsbury Italian loaf refrigerated bread dough and starting at the seam was able to unroll it into a rectangle, brushed with the egg and made layers using Genoa salami, provolone cheese and swiss cheese (thats what I had in the fridge) rolled it up and put on sheet, brushed top with egg. Baked about 20 minutes at 350. Yum! Can't wait to try it with the pepperoni.

Kielbasa Cabbage Skillet

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2007
Yum! I changed it up a bit but came out with the same great taste. I used a little oil instead of butter, and browned cajun smoked sausage, added 2 chopped onions and cooked down a little. Left out the green pepper, added the head of chopped cabbage and just let it fry down, stirring every now and then. Kept it covered and simmered until done. Now thats some good eatin! (If I was going to have cabbage as a side dish instead of a main meal, I would use bacon in place of the sausage.)

Awesome Roast Beef

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
I followed the recipe... I ended up cooking the roast on low 10 hours and it was not as tender as I thought it would be. The meat did not have a lot of flavor but the gravy was pretty good. I really should have went with the reviews and should have added onion soup mix, carrots, potatoes and onions. I think the package of onion soup mix would have helped it a lot. On the recipe as is...I would not make it again.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2007
Really Good Pancakes! I followed the recipe except for 2 things... I added 1/2 tsp vanilla (could not tell so I might use 1 tsp next time) and I cut the salt to 1/2 tsp and that worked out fine. I think I might try them next time with 2 Tbsp of sugar. I brought the egg, melted butter and milk to room temp. They came out perfect and we loved them! Thanks so much for this recipe, its a keeper!

I love this with the changes I made, I used 1 stick of butter, no nutmeg, and kept the 2 Tbsp powder sugar and 3/4 tsp cinnamon the same. Yummy!

The basil flavor was very strong and the sauce just slid off the chicken. Not something I would make again.

My Country Style Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I did not add salt and used garlic powder instead of the garlic salt and it was salty enough. If I made it again I would add more seasoning and chopped onions. Maybe some beef broth too. Served it over mashed potatoes.

This was good but I would not make it again. All I could taste was the sweet sauce, the flavor of the pork was lost.
