Thirty Minute Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2007
Very good! I made a few basic changes. I seasoned my ground beef when cooking it, added half a can of broccoli and cheese soup, and threw in half a package of rotini pasta to the mix. Turned out very flavourful for me, like homemade Hamburger Helper! Easy to make and will definitely be a favourite recipe of mine.

Toad in the Hole III

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
I'm guessing that I went wrong somewhere along the way, because this turned out very bland and dry for me. I don't know what I did wrong, but perhaps I will try again one day.

Souper Skillet Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
I just love this! It's like a healthier, home-made version of hamburger helper. After I started it, I realized I had no canned tomatoes, so I sliced up a large fresh one and threw in an extra cup of water. I thought this might make it taste "plain" but it still had loads of flavour! I also used the cheese I had on hand, which happened to be Havarti and Cheddar. This will definitely be a regular in my household!

Vegan Split Pea Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2006
This was good, but I found it too salty. However, that may have been because I added frankfurters into the soup while it was cooking.

Fast Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
I thought this was delicious. It tastes very similar (to me) to Kozy Shack's cinnamon rice pudding. I will definitely be making this again!!

Belle and Chron's Spinach and Mushroom Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2009
I had to make this into a crustless quiche because I didn't have a pie pan. Also, I sauteed the mushrooms and spinach first because I wasn't sure how it would turn out throwing them in raw. But this was phenomenal! We are a quiche loving family, and it was so nice to be able to make it at home. Not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be either.

Asparagus Supreme

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
I am so glad I tried this recipe! Like many others, I used fresh asparagus. I omitted the chicken and substituted the red pepper for a broccoli head. I didn't think I would like the mayo in it, but it actually gives it a very pleasant taste. This is a quick recipe to make, especially if you do all the prep work ahead of time. And the best is that my son didn't even realize he was eating vegetables until he was almost finished his meal!! I will definitely make this again.

Jay's Hearty Breakfast Skillet

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2012
This was really good and we will make it again. The only issue I had was that my potatoes ended up as mush. Next time I will steam them in a pan with the lid on for 10 minutes, and then continue as shown in this recipe.

Spaghetti Pie I

Yum! The only change I made was to throw some mushrooms in when I added the tomatoes. So good!

All Day Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: May 15, 2012
I loved this! It was delicious, but keep in mind that it is supposed to be a "firm" macaroni and cheese, and it is rich.

Upside-Down Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2009
I wouldn't say this tastes like pizza...the crust came out a bit "doughy" underneath. Hubby said it tastes more like Hamburger Helper. It was good though, I added mushrooms. I would make this again.

15-Minute Dinner Nachos Supreme

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2009
This isn't what comes to my mind when someone says "nachos", but it is very good and easy to make. Would freeze great too. Husband and I really liked it.

Rice & Beans (Haitian Style)

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
Hands down the best rice & beans I've ever tasted. I didn't have the pepper, so I subbed a tiny bit of chili flakes. I also threw in a bunch of chopped celery. I only used 4 cups of water instead of 5, and it came out just wonderfully...not sure if it was supposed to be more "moist"? Anyways it was fabulous and seasoned excellently, will definitely make this again.

This was good, and easy to make. I omitted the olives as I don't like them, and substituted cooked spinach instead.

Bacon and Parmesan Penne Pasta

Very good for a quick and easy meal! The only thing I changed was to drizzle some maple syrup over the bacon and onions while they were cooking.

Chinese Chicken Fried Rice II

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
If I had known how easy it was to make delicious fried rice, I would have been doing it long ago! This was actually my first attempt at fried rice, and this is my new go-to recipe for it! Just so good :)

Peanut Butter Noodles

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
WOW! This was fantastic! I was not expecting it to be *so* good! I will definitely be making this again. I would have gave it a 5 star rating but the garlic taste was a bit overwhelming (and I only used two cloves instead of the three called for), next time I will leave the garlic out. Other then that, it was awesome!

Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2011
I only gave this three stars because while I enjoyed it, my husband and children didn't like it. I think part of it might have been the instant rice, as they don't care for it much, so maybe next time I'll make it with basmati rice instead.

Maple Glazed Sweet Potatoes

My husband didn't like the coconut, so next time I will omit that. I really liked this though, and the kids declared their "orange candy" a hit!
