Excellent, excellent, excellent! I used Head Country Barbeque sauce. The lemon gives the ribs depth. Superb!

Great-Grandmother Steinbeck's Johnnycake (Cornbread)

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
This is a great cornbread recipe. It came out fluffy and it was not sweet. I love it. I did not have buttermilk so I just used the milk I had on hand. Thanks for the recipe.

Homesteader Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2006
Great cornbread for making cornbread dressing (stuffing). I didn't like it alone. But I've been looking a long time for a cornbread for my dressing and this is it! Thanks.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2006
Best Chili Ever. I have made this twice. The first time I didn't have some of the ingredients but made it anyway. It was delicious. The second time I made an effort to get more of the ingredients this recipe calls for and it was even better. I did make some modifications to suit my own taste. I sauteed the onions, green peppers, red peppers, and celery before adding to the beans and ground beef. Instead of bacon bits I used regular bacon. I cooked the bacon, cut it up and put it in the pot. It's such a nice treat to run in to Italian sausage and bacon when eating it. I did not add beer because I don't drink it and did not want to buy a six pack to get one can. It didn't need it anyway, the chili is fabulous. To add spicyness without it being hot I added a can of Rotel tomatoes and "Red Hot" hot sauce. Red Hot adds heat and it has a great flavor. All hot sauces do not taste good. My chili can out mild but the flavor is incredible! Thanks a lot!

Terrific! Incredibly moist and very chocolatey. Yet, it is still fluffy. Amazing.

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2006
I tried this with chicken breast. Then added the chicken to a stir-fry afterward. This is terrific. I used a garlic and ginger paste that comes in a jar instead of the cloves of garlic. And I am very pleased. Thank you.

My seven year old liked them so much that he suggested I write this review. These are delicious. And sooooo moist! I added chocolate chips. But it really wasn't necessary. These are good with or without. Thanks

Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2006
I just made these pancakes and they are delicious. I took the advice of some and put in an additional 1/4 of a cup of milk and an additional 1/4 cup of applesauce. I also put in 1 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon. I found it necessary to thin out with water until I was happy with the consistency. They are so fluffy and moist. Such a treat. The children topped theirs with syrup. I put applesauce on top of mine because the pancake was already pretty sweet because I added about 2 Tbsp. of sugar to the dry ingredients. I put in a dash of vanilla, too. Thanks Shirley!

Old-Fashioned Scalloped Corn

This is a very good side dish. A simple dish that requires ingredients one would normally have on hand. I followed the recipe exactly and it came out great. Wouldn't change a thing. Thanks!

Bacon Wrapped Hamburgers

Reviewed: May 23, 2006
These are insanely delicious. I made the mixture then cooked them in a skillet. I cooked the bacon separately and used it as a garnish along with lettuce & tomato. A good bacon will really set it off well! My husband is crazy about them and the all recipes site.

Shrimp and Dill Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: May 23, 2006
These are so terrific. Try using fresh or frozen shrimp steamed correctly instead of canned shrimp. Then chop up the shrimp into smaller pieces. The texture comes out so much better. Don't over cook the shrimp or they will come out chewy. This recipe can also stand on its own without the shrimp. The taste is still fabulous. I think chopped celery is also a great addition. Especially if you decide to delete the shrimp.
