Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2013
I found this bread was rather bland. Perhaps I missed something? I do like the addition of blueberries.

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2013
Delicious' I like that the peanut butter flavor is subtle. I did add an extra tablespoon of peanut butter at the request of my family. Otherwise, I kept it as is. Best with guittard semi sweet chocolate chips.

Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
This is lovely, with just a hint of coffee flavoring. I went to starbucks and asked for two shots of espresso, and used it right away so it wouldn't get bitter. I swirled some caramel into the top before baking, but then liked the caramel so much that I poured it all over the top once it was cooled. Use a water bath, bake for an hour, then turn oven off and crack oven door for one minute, shut door and let cheesecake set in oven another hour. Chill overnight. I have never had a cheesecake crack. Never.

Lemon Square Bars

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
These were tasty, but I made the mistake of doubling the lemon filling-too much! Next time I will go with 1 1/2. Also, DO NOT melt butter-use very cold and cut in with pastry cutter until it resembles coarse crumbs then press into pan. Thanks for the recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2008
Delicious miskate on my part! I accidentally put the 1/3 cup of brown sugar into the muffin. The result was very sweet and VERY banana-y. I would love to add some nuts next time. I also substituted the oil for the butter. My picky son ate them up!

Janine's Best Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2007
Delicious! Very rich tasting. Also, very simple. Has a very banana-ey flavor. The only thing I addded was a litle bit of vanilla. I also turned the temperature down to 300 after 30 minutes, then baked it another 50 on that temperature with a sheet of foil over the top (it was getting pretty brown, but then, my oven is hot). I checked it about every 15 minutes Definitely a must have for the recipe box. :) Thanks a lot!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
Wow! This is a beautiful, easy to do cobbler! I don't even LIKE peach cobbler- but my family does. The topping is what does it for me. Thank you again to the person who suggested the boiling water method of removing the skins of the peaches- they literally slid off! No wasted peach! I doubled the recipe and I added a handful of raspberries- it was incredible and gave the cobbler some eye-catching color and tartness. This is the only peach cobbler recipe I will ever use again.

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2007
This was a great first-timer ganache recipe! I added 1/2 milk chocolate and 1/2 semi-sweet, as I like milk chocolate better. I used it over a devils food and cookie dough ice cream cake- too good for words! Everyone said I could put Cold Stone out of business! :) I am now trying it with White chocolate. Note to people using it as a frosting/icing: put it in the fridge for about 30 minutes- it will set up quicker and better!

Mrs. Sigg's Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: May 22, 2006
Great peanut butter cookies! I did find them a little crumbly, not quite as chewy as I would like, but the flavor was very nice. I also added 1/2 extra cup of peanut butter, and I rolled a few batches in sugar, and topped some with milk chocolate chips. This one is a keeper! Way to go Mrs. S!
