I love food so much that I think about it all the time! I read cookbooks like they're novels and I'm currently writing a cookbook of my own. I should weigh 400 lbs., but fortunately I'm able to keep it off (most of it, anyway) with exercise. I enjoy running 5k races for my favorite charities.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, pancakes and cakes! I love to watch pancakes rise when I turn them over! Oh and bread! Love making and eating cinnamon rolls! And brownies - for cooking and for eating!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Helping others learn to cook by finding and customizing recipes for them and their current life situations. Also, we just started doing some interactive cooking with a group of friends, which is a whole new experience but a lot of fun! Christmas Cookies with my daughter. Cinnamon rolls when our Church conference broadcasts from Salt Lake City. Road trips where we seek out the best food in the country!
My cooking triumphs
I like to think that even my failures are triumphs, because they get me closer to being a better cook. But to be specific, I once made a Linzer cake that was so beautiful it made me cry.
My cooking tragedies
Sauce left on the stove for too long which burned to a crisp. A boxed risotto mix which was inedible. S'mores brownies which burst into flames under the broiler (actually not a tragedy, we laughed ourselves silly over that one!)
