Roasted Butternut Squash and Garlic Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
I have made this several times. I have never put the heavy cream mix on and don't miss it at all. I have made a few small changes. I layer in the following manner - squash sauce, noodles, sauce, parm, noodles, basil pesto, mozzarella, noodles, sauce, parm, noodles, sauce, mozzarella and parm. My family can't wait to have this.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
I made these for Christmas cookie giving and they never made it to the neighbors.... even after 3 batches. They are that good! DO NOT skip the sifting. If you don't have a sifter, put the flour in a bowl and whisk it.

Gingerbread Boys

This is seriously the best gingerbread I have had! I hated to give them away they were so good. The orange zest is really subtle but really puts this cookie above all the rest.

My sister-in-law actually threatened to turn the car around and go home if I didn't make this for her. Love it!

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
These are the best rolls ever! I use a mix of whole wheat and regular flour - 1 3/4 cup wheat - 2 cup regular. I make 16 round rolls instead of the crescents. They come out great every time.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2012
I made this for my daughter's friend with a gluten allergy. I wasn't expecting much but it was so good. Has the texture more like a brownie or a torte but really good chocolate flavor.

Thai Peanut Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
This is a great recipe but I made a few changes. Triple the soy sauce, peanut butter, vinegar and cayenne and add 2-3 tbsp brown sugar. I double the chopped peanuts because I like the crunch. I add the juice of one lime and the wedges and serve it over rice noodles instead of rice. YUMMY!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2009
This is so yummy! I used 1/2 milk and 1/2 water, makes it a little creamier. Used 6 egg whites for the meringue, same amount of sugar and added a tsp of vanilla. I take about 1/4 of the lemon zest and sprinkle it on top.

Sweet Corn Tomalito

I am always asked either to give the recipe or bring the dish! I microwave it, or cook, tightly covered in the oven. I have never steamed it. I use real butter and canned corn.

Lemon-Lime Chicken Broil

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2007
This is delicious! We made the following changes: We did not baste the chicken or cut it onto bite size pieces. It was wonderful! Not too sour at all. It had just the right tartness to really add to the italian seasoning. This is my new favorite!

Golden Wedding Punch

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2007
Wow! I made this punch for a church function and it was a huge hit! Several people commented that it was the best they ever had. I did make some changes as suggested in other reviews. I used a 2 liter bottle of lemon-lime soda instead of the sugar/lemon juice/water mix. Making the recipe 1 can of OJ concentrate, 1 46oz can pineapple juice and 1 2 liter bottle of lemon-lime soda. I added a squirt of grenadine in the bottom of the punch glasses after filling with the punch which made a really lovely "sunrise" effect.
