Excellent recipe...easier and faster to make than I thought it would be. My husband asks for me to make this once a week now!!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
This was so good and easy! I followed the recipe except I substituted ground turkey and my dad and husband couldn't even tell. I also only used 1 lb of meat but the same amount of gravy called for in the recipe, so definitely double the gravy if you are using 2 lbs of meat and want some for potatoes!

Asian Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
Just like my favorite asian chicken salads in the restaurants. The dressing is awesome! I made an asian marinade and grilled the chicken on the grill and my inlaws were so impressed with the finished product.

Asian Potato Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
What a great twist to potato salad! I left out the bacon and used a small squirt of regular yellow mustard instead of the dry mustard and it turned out great.

The best bean salad I've ever had! Great in wraps, on tortilla chips, or by itself.

Easy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
A good way to use leftover chicken--very quick and easy. It was missing a little something. I think I'll try refried beans and enchilada sauce on top next time.

Texas Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2007
My husband liked these better than traditional quesadillas and I liked them for something different. I did add extra cheese.

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2007
Make sure to set the slush out early enough (at least a half hour before). I did mine in 2 freezer bags and it worked perfectly! Delicious!!

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2007
4 stars as is..5 after I made some adjustments. The second time I made it, I kept the bread in slices, spread the cream cheese (made sandwiches), added cinnamon and sugar on top and reduced the sugar in the syrup. I preferred it this way! But it was still good as written.

Chunky Seafood Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
I don't usually try recipes that haven't been rated/reviewed yet, but I'm glad I tried this one! Very tasty for such a quick, easy recipe. My husband and father ate 3 servings!! I added 1/4 cup chopped parsley in at the end for some color and freshness.

Chicken Pot Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
This recipe tasted wonderful, but using two frozen/thawed pie crusts just didn't work for me at all! The one I tried to put on top broke apart and woulndn't come out easily at all. I think this would have been a 5 star if I hadn't had all of that trouble! Maybe next time I'll use a rolled-out refrigerated crust to put on top. I did substitue frozen veggies and used cream of chicken and herb soup-Yum!

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
My family and friends rave over this soup! I put a little extra cheese in and use fresh broccoli. I may try it with some carrots, too, but it is perfect just the way it's written!!

Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
I doctored this recipe up a bit to match my preferences and based on what I had in the house. I used a recipe for traditional mashed potatoes to put on top, used frozen/thawed veggies, used a can of cream of mushroom plus a bit of sour cream and milk. I also substituted ground turkey for the beef. It turned out wonderfully, but I'm sure the recipe as written is tasty, too. It's definitely a good base recipe to have fun changing up.

Chicken 'N' Chilies Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2007
I've made this twice now, and thought it was much better with a few adjustments. I sauted the onion, added a can of diced tomatoes and chilies (drained), then melted 8 oz cream cheese into the veggies in place of the cream. I used 3/4 the potatoes that it calls for and added some garlic powder and cumin as suggested by other reviewers. 3 star the first time I made it and 5 star the second time with changes!

Spicy Pineapple Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
I used this as a sauce for the Polynesian chicken wraps from this site and it was wonderful! I used a can of crushed pineapple in pineapple juice (not in heavy syrup and I didn't reserve the juice to add in later) and added the cornstarch and ginger to it and it turned out perfectly!

Wedge Salad with Elegant Blue Cheese Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
This dressing was wonderful with half of the blue cheese--both in the dressing and on top of the salads (I think it would have been way too over-powering with all of the cheese in and on top of the salad!). I substituted whole milk b/c I didn't have any buttermilk and the dressing was definitely elegant and delicious!

Busy Night Turkey Taco Soup with Avocado Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
Perfect way to use up turkey leftovers! I sauted an onion and garlic in olive oil, then added the turkey and a bit of water and 1/2 packet of taco seasoning and allowed to simmer for about 5 minutes for more flavor. Then I just added in the rest of the ingredients (and topped it off with cheese and sour cream) and it was delicious!
