This was DEEElish! I accidentally ended up cooking the garlic and onions a little too long so they were carmelized - which turned out really good. I think it probably added a lot of flavor. I also added 3/4 cup cheese instead of 1/4 because we love cheese. Didn't add the egg at the end. Thanks so much for the recipe. It will be a keeper!

REALLY good! I had about 1/4 cup of heavy cream and about 1 cup of fat free half and half so I used that and 3/4 cups skim milk. Not sure if it made any difference, but wanted to use the cream and 1/2 and 1/2 before it expired. I did use a little more cheese than the recipe called for and I even sprinkled some on top for the last 10 minutes of cooking. Also added a little salt and a little pepper. The one other thing I did differently was to use a bag of Simply Potatoes brand "homestyle slices" since I had some on hand. OH! and I left out the onions because they don't agree with a member of the family. GREAT comfort food!
