Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
REALLY good glaze. The husband was so worried about me trying my own glaze instead of using a pre-glazed ham but one bite was all it took to calm his fears. I got a spiral cut ham and this made a delicious, light glaze that was wonderful on the outside but not so strong that it overpowered the meat. Followed reviewer's advice to use brown sugar instead of corn syrup and put the ham in an oven bag for easier glazing and clean up. WOW!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
The longer you let this marinade, the better it becomes. I put this whole recipe in a gallon size ziploc bag and left it for about 2 hours. It really makes a difference! The second time I made this, I only marinated for about 30 minutes and the sprouts didn't quite have the same salty, crunchy taste to them as the first batch.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
I thought this was pretty good but I'm not sure it was really worth the effort. My stuffing definitely dried out a bit and the husband found the fruit taste to be a little overpowering so I will probably reduce the fruit next time to make this a little more savory instead of sweet.

Black-Eyed Pea Gumbo

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
I could eat this for days. Literally. I ate this for days until I was done with all the leftovers. This is classic, stick-to-your-ribs comfort food. I can't say enough good things about this recipe...only change was to add significantly more garlic since I love a strong garlic taste in....everything.

Ugh. What did I do wrong here?? This recipe turned out terrible. What a waste of expensive lobster. (sigh)

Roasted Potatoes with Greens

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
So simple and so good. I've never been a huge fan of rosemary but decided to give this recipe a try and it was amazing and smelled so good in the oven. I used medium/large red potatoes so the cooking time was extended.

Andrea's Pasta Fagioli

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2011
Oh wow! This recipe certainly earned all the glowing reviews! Following reviewer's advice to substitute chicken bouillon for plain water made this especially delicious. Also added carrots and spinach for some extra veggie deliciousness. Between three people, I hardly had any leftovers and they disappeared the next day.

My boyfriend and I love going to a local Greek restaurant and he always orders this dish. I was so excited to try this recipe and it absolutely did not disappoint. Delicious and perfect just the way it is written!

T's Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I don't really know what I did wrong here. Even after trying to broil the fries at the end, they came out limp and soft instead of crunchy like I was hoping.

Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
I liked this recipe and I liked the fact that it recommended cheaper walnuts versus more expensive pine nuts. However, it felt like the walnut flavor just totally overpowered the other flavors. I guess some things are just too good to be true.

Cafeteria Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2010
This was actually pretty good. Personally, I will be adding more cheese to the recipe when I make it next--probably as much as an additional 2 cups in order to make it creamy and very cheesy. Garlic flavored bread crumbs really made the topping unique and delicious!

Delicious. Took the advice of many reviewers and added crab meat to the cream cheese. Better than most restaurant versions--filling and very rich!

Very good. Added additional minced garlic to the beef mixture. Worchestershire sauce definitely made the beef amazing. So rich and authentic.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
WONDERFUL!! I hate root beer so I was slightly nervous trying this recipe but it is DELICIOUS! Like many reviewers, I used a cheaper, larger cut of pork than the recipe suggested (in my case, a 6 lb boston butt) and it turned out marvelous. Use a high quality BBQ sauce and a slow cooker liner for superior taste and hassle-free clean-up! This is an easy, fool-proof recipe for success!

Grilled Brown Sugar Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
All I could taste was the ginger and the sauce was thin and runny. I took one bite and forbid my husband from even trying it because I was so embaressed at how badly it tasted.

The Best Chicken Soup Ever

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2008
This really is wonderful! It makes a huge amount of soup but my husband and two friends finished it off in less than two days! I didn't use a whole chicken--3lbs. of bone-in half breasts was actually a lot easier and was plenty of meat. This is truly comfort food at its best.
