Naked Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2012
I only gave this 3 stars because I made changes. Except for substituting a jar of homemade marinara (and leaving out the tomato paste), I followed the recipe and found it to be a bit boring soI added a touch of half-n-half, about 2 Tbsps. of cambozola cheese and some parmesan. It's a great base though and we enjoyed it very much with the additions. thanks!

Mie Goreng - Indonesian Fried Noodles

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
I followed the recipe exactly except I added some extra veggies and I didn't have any sweet soy sauce so I just added some brown sugar to the sauce. This was really delicious and fast...and it used up a bunch of veggies that needed to be eaten! YUM! Thanks!

Seafood Au Gratin

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
This is simple and amazing. I added freshly ground nutmeg and ground mustard. I left out the mushrooms as a courtesy to my bf and I didn't miss them. Served in individual ramekins with some french bread and some garlic green beans. I can't wait to have this again! thank you!

Magic Cookie Bars from EAGLE BRAND®

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
These are so easy I made them on a weeknight. I brought them in to work the next day and they disappeared before lunch...even though its Christmas and the office is full of goodies.

Lemon Sauce for Salmon Patties

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
fantastic! I served this over the Oregon Salmon Patties from Allrecipes.com. the only thing I did differently was I added some grated orange rind because I happened to have it on hand. It did make quite a bit though so tonight we're going to try the leftovers on some floured chicken cutlets.

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2011
I made this last night and our company asked for the recipe. It's delicious. I used dehydrated chopped garlic and onion powder. The only thing I might do is add a little more cinnamon and a touch more sugar but that's just because I like my pork a little sweet. I'm already looking forward to the next time pork tenderloin goes on sale! YUM. thanks for sharing!

Pad See Ew (Thai Noodles with Beef and Broccoli)

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2011
I doubled the sauce as many suggested and I served w/ some peanuts, extra fish sauce and lime juice. It was a hit and I'd make it again. The only thing I really did differently was I used about 4 handfuls of frozen Thai vegetables rather than the broccoli. It was what I had and it worked out great.

Curry-Coconut Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
I made this about a month ago. It was my first attempt @ making this dish after having an excellent restaurant version. I, as others did, doubled the coconut milk and added more curry. However, this is a great base recipe and I can't wait to make it again for myself...BF won't eat curry. A great base!! Thanks!

Easy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
I used Velveeta instead of cheddar in the potatoes and just before they were done I topped them w/ some cheddar and swiss. I also added some garlic powder, chopped onion and mustard. These are amazing and I think this is how I'm going to make them from now on. I also used fat free cream cheese and low fat mayo to lighten them up a little. YUM! Thanks!

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
YUM. I made this yesterday and gave it to my neighbors for Christmas along with several other homemade goodies. Within a couple hours I had several phone calls to tell me how wonderful the bread was! This is fantastic and I'll definitely be making it again. There's nothing like the smell of homemade bread baking in the oven!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
Growing up in NY I have a blue cheese preference for my buffalo wings so I replaced the ranch with low fat blue cheese dressing. I further reduced the fat of this by using fat free cream cheese and I baked, de-boned and trimmed 4 chicken thighs. Everyone absolutely LOVED this and I will definitely make it again...but I wouldn't mind a little more Frank's to spice it up!

Hearty Mince

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
I rarely stick to a recipe exactly but I do with this one. I make it a lot during the cold fall and winter months and it's never failed to please. Tonight we had it with a side caesar salad and a couple glasses of red wine. It's a household favorite. Thank you!

Slow Cooker Macaroni and Cheese I

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
I made this with the cheddar and didn't like it but I was so hung up on the idea that I replaced the cheddar with Velveeta. I also par-cook the noodles. This is now a potluck and holiday staple for me. I also always add mustard and chopped onion! There are NEVER any leftovers. ***** with Velveeta cheese!

Bacon Cabbage Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
I just cooked the cabbage in leftover bacon fat and added in garlic and half a yellow onion. I also skipped the powdered mustard and added in a couple Tbsp. of dijon mustard. I served it w/ roasted chicken breast and it was even better heated up the next day. I'll be making this again!

Radish Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2010
I would have never thought of this and it is good. I changed it quite a bit but the base was great. I used 12 radishes, 4 cloves of garlic, 1 8oz. brick of low fat cream cheese, about 1/3 c. of parmesan cheese and 1/3 cup of low fat mayo. I baked it for about 30 minutes at 350*. My bf who says he hates radishes devoured it w/ crackers and veggies!
