All-Day Apple Butter

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
I used MacIntosh apples and I peeled, cored, and chopped them. I did use a total of 3 cups of sugars.Half and half amounts of brown sugar and white sugar and it was not at all too sweet, just yummy. I used 3 teaspoons of cinnamon, 1/2 teasponn each of salt, ground cloves and allspice. After cooking (covered) on high for 10 hours, I blended the mixture to a smooth consistancy and then cooked (uncovered) for about 1.5 hours. I was told by my husband that this is the best apple butter he has EVER tasted! Excellent recipe!

Bob's Habanero Hot Sauce - Liquid Fire

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
If I could give this recipes more stars I would. The sauce has the right amount of spice without the constant burn on your tongue. I was fortunate in getting a full crop of habaneros from my girlfriend who accidentally planted these peppers and who does not like spice! In sharing my good fortune with coworkers they also think the sauce is FANTASTIC. I am now 'hording' the rest of the my jars sauce until next seasons crop. I froze my batches and they are still as wonderful as when first making them. I have used the sauce as a bbq sauce for grilled chicken and hot wings. Some coworkers have used the sauce as a dipping sauce for their breaded chicken wings and loved it!

Chicken was very tender with lots of flavor. I grilled a whole turkey breast (with ribs)and grilled it for over an hour. It was worth the wait!

Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: May 24, 2008
Fantastic change to the traditional whipped creme pies! I made a few changes and used one container cool whip, prepared oreo cookie pie crust and cut the sugar down to half a cup. I made the pie the night and drizzled choco syrup on the side of pie plate instead of on top. Also, the pie tasted much better slightly frozen! Yum.

Marshmallow and Lime Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: May 8, 2008
When first making this, I was not a huge fan. But after taking a long hiatus, I LOVE this stuff. I found that this time I omitted the mayo and nuts. I also agree with others and not use a mixer. I will try to use the recipe with orange jello!

Jamaican Me Crazy Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
No sinus's draining here. I added 1 tsp. of cayenne and a few shakes of habanero sauce. All in all, good tasting chili. This one replaces my Purdue Boiler Maker Chili recipe.

Chicken Eugene

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2008
Flavors were just ok, nothing special. I did not know what to expect and thought with the combination of bacon and dried beef the dish would have had a better taste. A bit on the bland side.

Spicy BBQ Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2008
Very tasty after a few modifications. I used 2 cloves of garlic, 2 Tbs. brown sugar and 1/4-1/2 tsp. of cayenne pepper! In order to get a thicker sauce, I pureed the sauce after cooking. I used skinless boneless chicken breasts and basted the last 6 minutes of grilling. **Hint for not burning sauce, turn off the side of the grill that has the chicken on it while basting.**

Very tasty. Husband said that this is a keeper! Next time I will take the advise of others and add the bacon and cheese 15 before the chicken is done.

Roast Sticky Chicken-Rotisserie Style

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2007
I marinated the chickens overnight before poppin them into the oven. I was skeptical at first with having to cook the chickens for 5 hours and not have the chicken come out dry tasting. To my amazement, the chickens came out not only VERY moist but VERY flavorful. I highly recommend this recipe!!!

Cabbage Roll Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
Tasted just like stuffed cabbage rolls! I added a few spices to kick it up a notch. I cooked the onions with the meat, added one teaspoon of tyme and seasoned salt, 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne and one crushed garlic. I cooked my casserole in a metal roaster. The 9x11 dish looked to small for the casserole ingredients.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

EXCELLENT! I made this recipe for an office pot luck and it was gone in an hour! I took the suggestion of another viewer and baked mine at 350 for 20 minutes. I also whipped everything up the night before and put it into the frig overnight and baked it in the morning.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2007
I made this for an office potluck and it was gone in 5 minutes. I did double the milk and flour to stretch the sauce and it still remained very tasty! I recommend using the "hot" sausage because it gives the recipe an extra kick. Excellent!
