Rosemary Roasted Turkey

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2009
I used a turkey breast to make sandwiches for lunches for the week..little did I know it was going to be better than any deli turkey I have ever had. With turkey breast at $7.00 and up at the deli..wow! I bought the 6 lb. turkey breast on sale for 6 bucks and we had gourmet sammies all week. Very delicious recipe!!!!

Roaster Yorkshire Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
This recipe tasted so wonderful, but it didn't need the extra oil pored on it! The roaster makes plenty of fat. I had to spoon out 1/2 cup of oil when it came out of the oven. The yorkshire was good and the chicken was very moist. I have to try this again without the oil and see if it works. I really didn't understand the coating of flour either, but I made the recipe as written and planned to give it another chance. Also, this is not for the calorie counters, but keep in mind nor is the roast beef with yorkshire pudding. My family loved it and I'm willing to give it a chance without the added oil.

Fried Green Tomatoes I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
A true southern recipe! I used self rising cornmeal as this is the only way I have ever seen them made in the south. No egg should be added because it will take away from the flavor. You must try, they have a a lovely sweet and sour taste. To be a really southern dish serve with grits. The best!!!

Grilled Chicken Quesadillas

I added jalopenos instead of green chilies. They were very good! This is a great recipe to use on a busy week night or just to use up leftover chicken.

Old Fashioned Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
One reveiwer said she never boils her chicken because it drys it out. Well I boil chicken for chicken soup, and chicken and dumplings all the time and it is never dry. I boil the heck out of it too so that I can get the bone marrow for stock. In this recipe I brought my whole chicken to a boil and then simmered it for 3 1/2 hours. I had onion, celery, and carrots in the broth which I strained off and saved the meat and broth. I added fresh chopped celery and carrot along with the tender meat, brought to a slow boil and added the dumpling mix, which I prepared without the egg. It was the bomb!

Onion Skin Colored Eggs

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
I used red onion skins, and made as written. Make sure you use the dry skin and not moist peel or the color won't project on the egg. Look at the photos that Jr the submitter posted. They are very helpful.

Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
This recipe was very good! I added garlic and lots of it...Korean food is full of garlic! That is what this recipe was missing! I made it as written but added the garlic and I grilled it. Be careful if you plan to grill..there is alot of sugar in this recipe and it will burn fast. Medium coals and have a safe spot on the grill to move them after they get their grill marks and can finish cooking slow.

Irish Whiskey Flat Iron Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2009
I went less on the oil, more on the whiskey, and more on the garlic. Boiled the left over marinade and put mushrooms and onions in it for a steak topping. The guys are still talking about it today! Very good recipe!!! Will be making again!!!!

Super Bowl Bites

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2009
I made two batches of this recipe. One batch was on soft dinner rolls. The second batch was on french bread baguettes. They were both equally delicious, but the men liked the bigger french bread bites. The only thing I will change next time is I will add more meat on the buns. Served with mustard and pickles!

Shrimpcargot

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2009
What a wonderful recipe! I'm so glad that I tried this at super bowl! They were gone in a flash! I'm also thankful I was able to get to Ambibambi on a post just hours before the SB and she told me to bake the mushrooms first to cook the water out before adding the shrimp and cheese. They turned out perfect. Also, because I made 30 of them and put them in a regular casserole dish they transported well, they were so crowded that they didn't move one bit. I want to try these next time as a side with steak. XOXO :)

Hey Marianne! Thank you so much for the recipe!!!! I made it excatly as it was written and my family loved it! PS. We are the Caper Gueens! Princessjenna told me about it and what a life saver because I usaually marinate and grill pork tenderloin.. to cold outside. This would also be good with chicken..says my son. Thanks for the great recipe! UPDATE: I used a pork loin and cut it very thin. The medallions were bigger but just as tender and delicious!

Savory Vegetable Beef Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2008
I actually first saw this recipe in a Taste of Home magazine while standing in line at the store. I almost bought the $9.99 recipe book, but came on here to see if the recipe might be here and da..da! I will always double check recipes on here before buying magazines! The recipe is very good. I made one change though I added my flour to my meat before browning. I find that it is a tastier way of thicking up stew. If you add the flour at the end it has a raw flour taste in my opinion.
