Well, I'm a 27year old female, who is in a wheelchair. I really love to cook, and it is a good feeling for me to be able to fix a meal that people injoy and go back for more! I have a three year old neice, who got on my lap one day, and told me "Missy, I love it when you cook, you cook so good!" That really makes you smile. I think one of the things that makes a good cook is enjoying cooking, and loving the people that you cook for, putting pride into the food, and trying new things. When the meal is good, its not so bad to have to clean up after dinner!!
My favorite things to cook
I really like to cook what ever my mood is, and try new thing. One day I would love a grand kichen, and have it be very accasable to me in my wheelchair, thats hard to find, I've seen some cool kichens for wheelchair users, and they have some great extras,I'd love that. I really like to make cherry cheese cake!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Sunday, after church the whole family would be togather and have a big meal, (alot of food!!) And of course, all holidays! My family is Greek, and on New Years, we had a tradition of haveing cabbage rolls, and in Greece, they put a plain gold ring in one, and who ever gets that one is going to have good luck all year. At least that was a tradition for my family before they came from Greece. As I was growing up, instead of just one ring, our parnet would put sivler chage in each one, so none of the kids would get sad, and we all would feel lucky!
