About this Cook
I love to cook, I love to try new things! I just wish my husband and daughter were more open to trying new foods and recipes... I feel that they really stifle my ability to expand my cooking talents.
My favorite things to cook
Italian - lasagna ... my mom's recipe is the best!
My cooking tragedies
When I was a teenager, I baked an all-day pumpkin pie! At that time, we had a gas stove - the kind that was supplied by a large gas tank outside the house. Unaware that the tank was almost empty, I put the pie in the oven. Checking it later, when it should have been almost done, it was still almost raw. Apparently, the fuel supply was just enough to heat the oven but not to the required temperature. My mom and I didn't know what else to do but leave the pie in the oven until it was done, which was about 8 hours later! Although the color was unusual, the pie tasted fine. Looking back, I'm thinking now that we probably shouldn't have eaten it!! Sure glad we didn't get sick.

Pizza Soup I
Pretty tasty! I also substituted mild Italian sausage for the pepperoni. I only used one can of tomatoes and two cups of homemade beef broth. I'm going to fix a batch for the freezer, hoping this will take care of a pizza craving instead of ordering out.

Cajun Chicken Pasta
Delicious, we all loved it!! High-fat, maybe, but if you don't eat like this every day it certainly isn't gonna kill you. I wouldn't change a thing!
