Jen's Fresh and Spicy Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2006
We had a lot of grape tomatoes from our garden that I need to use up, so I decided to try this recipe. I made a few adjustments (only used 1 T. of cilantro and omitted the green pepper) to suit my family's tastes and we all loved it. This is a great recipe that I'll be making again and again.

Shipwreck Stew

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2006
My family loved this recipe. I took some of the suggestions from other reviewers and added garlic (1 clove) and a packet of taco seasoning mix. I only made half of the recipe, and cut the potatoes into cubes so they would soften up in the crockpot. Turned out delicous -a great comfort food on a cold evening.

Bierock Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
This was very good. I prebaked the bottom crust and seasoned the meat as other reviewers suggested. I didn't use a top crust at all (forgot to buy 2 cans of crescent rolls). I also used packaged kraut instead of canned. My family really liked it. I will make this one again.

Bran Flakes Muffins with Raisins

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
These are very good and easy to make. My BF requests a batch of these almost every week. Have replaced honey for the sugar a few times and use Raisin Bran Crunch instead of regular Raisin Bran. Doubling the recipe makes 12 good size muffins. Thanks for the recipe!

Oatmeal Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
I followed the recipe except added 1 C. of raisins. Made it into 12 muffins and had just a little batter left over (not even enough to make 1 more). Baked at suggested temp. for about 20 minutes. The muffins are moist and the taste is wonderful! Will be making these again. Thanks for a great recipe!

Blueberry Muffins I

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2007
I thought these muffins were very moist and tasty. I doubled the recipe, skipped the lemon zest, and topped each one with a little cinnamon and sugar before putting into the oven. They turned out great. Thanks for the recipe!

Followed the recipe exactly and the bread turned out great. It was moist, had great flavor and texture. Served it with homemade soup and it was devoured in no time. This recipe is a keeper!

Rhubarb Strawberry Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2008
This recipe was very easy to make and turned out delicous. I baked it in a 9 inch square stoneware pan, omitted the nutmeg, and served warm with vanilla frozen yogurt. Will be making this recipe often.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Delicous and very easy. I didn't have any walnuts, so I made without. Will use walnuts next time and I bet they'll be even better! Thanks for a great recipe.

Eggnog Quick Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 31, 2006
I took the advice from other reviewers and added a small package of vanilla pudding, increased the egg nog to 1 1/3 cup, and used 2 T. of real rum. The bread was delicous. It has more of a pound cake consistency than a bread. I'll be making this every Christmas from now on.

Kim's Chocolate Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2006
This cake was easy to make and very moist. I only gave it 4 stars because my family found the coffee liqueur taste to be overpowering. I will try this again without the liquer. I used a Bundt Cake Glaze recipe from this site and it was very good on the cake.

Rempel Family Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2006
After reading the positive reviews, I was looking forward to making this. Followed the recipe exactly, and it was the greasiest meatloaf I've ever seen - in spite of using very lean beef. It also fell apart when taken out of the pan. My family thought the taste was just ok. I wish I had taken other reviewers advice about putting bread in the bottom to soak up the grease. Using 2 pounds of meat may have helped keep it from falling apart. Guess I'll have to keep looking for a meatloaf recipe that we like.
