Married (15 yrs) stay-at-home mother of 3 very rambunctious children. I lead a pretty simple life: my home, family, and my few li'l hobbies keep me busy. Always looking for new and creative ways to cook for my family.
My favorite things to cook
Gotta be downhome comfort food. Yeah, yeah.... I know it's not always good for you, but every once in a while won't hurt anybody. My chicken fried steak is my family's all time favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making Thanksgiving dinner. We always have ham and we can't do without my cornbread dressing.
My cooking triumphs
I'm surprised to say that my most recent triumph was some salmon filet. I'm not really big on fish so my experience with it is limited. I followed a simple recipe from a friend and it turned out marvelous. Made me feel li'l bit more comfortable preparing fish in the future.
My cooking tragedies
I think the worst thing that I have ever prepared was when my hubby and I were first married. I followed this recipe for a fish dinner that apparently was overdosed with dill. Needless to say it was not edible and we ended up ordering pizza.

Homemade Butter
I have to say this was easier than i thought it would be. i went to make grits this morning and realized i was out of butter, but i had heavy cream. so i thought i would give it a whirl. i had to add a tad more salt than in the recipe, but otherwise it only took me about 5 minutes with my hand mixer. for large quantities i can see needing the cuisinart. will use this again definitely!!!

Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup
I agree with some earlier posts that this had wayyy to many flavors going on at once. I'll just stick with my own recipe. Thanks for sharing.

Not Your Every Day Smoked Pork Spare Ribs
The rub was a bit too spicy for my taste. Will omit the cayenne next time. But otherwise the flavor was wonderful. Cooked them ever so slowly in my smoker. Definitely worth the time.
