Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

My favorite pancake recipe! Word to the wise, though -- cook them medium low instead of medium high. They get pretty thick, and if they cook too fast they'll be doughy in the middle. Plus, if you cook them on med-low, they get a nice golden brown crust on them that's just a wee bit crunchy. We love it!

I agree with a previous commenter that you don't need a deep dish pie shell -- I had to add more egg mixture to fill it up.

Pie Crust IV

This pie crust is AMAZING. I usually end up using about 6 Tbs water and it holds together just fine when I'm rolling.

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

I liked these (followed recipe exactly), but I didn't think they were "rave-worthy." I guess it's possible it was the mix I used, but I didn't really like the texture of the cream cheese topping -- I would have liked something more creamy and less cake-like. Still weren't bad at all, though, just not my favorite!

Dough seems like it will be way too dry, but it's actually perfect -- just takes some serious muscle to stir. Wonderfully fudgy, taste a lot like cocoa puffs!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Absolutely perfect. I'm not sure they would have had to be refrigerated at all, though. I refrigerated them for an hour and then had to wait for the dough to warm up a bit before it was the right consistency to roll out. After that, though, no problems at all! And DELICIOUS!!

Grandma Johnson's Scones

These are AMAZING. A few notes for the newbies like me: The dough seemed way too dry, and I almost added more sour cream or some milk. But DON'T - just turn it all out onto the counter and mix it with your hands. It pulled together perfectly. I made 3 rounds and used a pizza cutter to cut them into 8 scones each, and that was the perfect size for me. I made a vanilla glaze with powdered sugar, milk, butter and vanilla and dipped the tops and sides once they cooled a bit...it hardened up and was PERFECT. Tastes just like Starbucks' petite vanilla scones, but the texture is MUCH better and doesn't have that too-floury flavor. I will make these again and again, I'm sure!!

This is a very hearty, filling pie. The topping adds a very unique flavor. Mine sunk a bit in the middle, but I may have put the topping on before it had set completely. Delicious, though!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

FanTAStic! The dough was too sticky to flatten, but it didn't matter - they spread perfectly. I added slightly more cream to the frosting to make it little thinner and creamer. This made way more than 12 servings - we made 24 sandwiches, and they're too sweet to have more than 1 at a time. I even thought they could have been smaller. But I *loved* them and will make them again!

Bread Machine Bagels

I made mine honey wheat, using honey instead of the sugar and 2 c. whole wheat flour + 1 c. all-purpose. As another reviewer recommended, I used 2 Tbs. molasses in the boiling water instead of the sugar, and let the dough rise. The only thing I didn't do, which I should have, was add more water originally - the dough wasn't sticky enough to properly mold and I ended up with some gnarly looking bagels! But they're DELICIOUS!!

Definitely very chocolatey, but a bit of a powdery cocoa taste. Next time I'll use a bit less cocoa powder (but I'll definitely make them again!).
