Creamy Butternut Squash With Cinnamon Soup
This is by far my favorite squash soup. I find the warmth of the ginger and cayenne very comforting. Using half-and-half (or whole milk) seems to bury the beautiful flavors. I prefer to use 1% milk instead.

Slow Cooker Lentil and Ham Soup
This is a wonderful recipe! The only changes I made: added a 1/2 box of frozen spinach and some cayenne (yum!) and used stewed tomatoes as other reviewers suggested. Cooked it on high for 4 hours. Even my picky 9-year-old loved it. The whole family requested that I put it in our permanent rotation.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice
This was amazing! I made it for guests and everyone ate 2 - 3 huge helpings and asked for the recipe. I couldn't find andouille, so used regular beef smoked sausage, but I otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Just before I added the sausage, I smashed some of the beans against the side of the pot to make it thicker and creamier (since I read that this would make it more authentic). The texture was perfect. This one is going in my rotation! Thanks so much for the recipe!
