Hot German Potato Salad III

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2010
Holly wow. I overdid the potatoes, so now I have mashed potatoes, but this dressing is out of this world perfect. I added a decent amount of paprika (maybe a tsp) during the onion phase, but I cannot imagine this being any better. MAKE MORE OF THE SAUCE THOUGH!

Dijon-Tarragon Cream Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2009
Onions, mushrooms (preferably Morel) and white whine make this dish a perfect lazy night dinner. Try sautéing the ingredients in truffle oil for a little extra complexity

Mint Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
4 stars for simplicity. I'm sure there are a few more simple things that could be done to make the flavor more complex though (saute the garlic first maybe?). Probably could make due with some black pepper if that is to your tastes as well, or something to spice it up a bit.

Lemon Thyme Rice

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2008
wow, WAY too much dry thyme! Should've read the reviews! I thought it was too much, so I didn't add near as much, but still too strong! 1 teaspoon probably would work, (or 1tblsp fresh as reviewed) It would probably be a good thing to modify this recipe page to clarify!

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2008
Nice and simple recipe. I found the proportions not to be very finicky, as I eyed the brown sugar and wine and it turned out great!

Chicken Biryani, Hyderabadi Style

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2008
Oh my god, this is so good! Although I can handle heat pretty well I am surely no native; so I was skeptical about the amount of chilies. It turned out to be perfect, absolutely perfect. Best curry I've ever made and in the top 5 I've ever eaten. I will make this again and again, thank you!

Parmesan Chicken II

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
4 stars for the the simplicity of the recipe. Nothing spectacular, but it filled the craving for Parmesan Chicken when I didn't have bread-crumbs, and using just cheese and spices gave it a biting taste!

Chicken Curry I

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2008
A good base curry, but I felt as if it could have more flavor. Indian food is wonderful because of the rich-flavors common in the dishes; this one felt a little too tame and not because it wasn't spicy. I might add more ginger or possibly even chili powder next time.

Rosemary Chicken with Orange-Maple Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2008
Excellent recipe, very easy with surprising results. I can't wait to make it again. Next time I will double the glaze and soak it up with rice. This works well with dried rosemary, but fresh is the best. If you don't have orange juice or oranges, try lemonade (or lemons), it works just as well

I can't imagine warm milk tasting much better; it tastes like it should! A very soothing recipe, add more honey if you like it a bit sweeter

Bill's Fried Bacon

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2007
Hands down the best bacon I've ever had or made! It's absolutely savory! I'm not sure what that person meant by "it didn't smell good" because my mouth was watering by the smell the whole time I cooked it. I didn't cook it in water, instead I just sprinkled it on while on the skillet. I added some onion powder as suggested, I also added a pinch of cayenne pepper and a good dose of fresh-ground peppercorn melange. Next time I will add some more of both peppers to give it more of a kick. But as it is, it melts in your mouth.

Cajun Spice Seasoning Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2006
good stuff. Added some chile powder and seasoned burgers with it. If it's too hot, don't season as much. Will use again

Spicy Filet Mignon

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2006
Excellent and unique steak rub, exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately I didn't have any basil or thyme, so I substituted it with a little bit of oregano and a few doses of thyme. The cut of filet I bought wasn't to die for, but the rub made it worth chewing, haha. I saved the left over mix to use again, it was great. If you really like hot spice, I'd add more cayenne pepper than the recipe calls for and some cracked pepper.
