Pure Maple Candy

Wow! It worked! Even though I think I messed up, it turned out delicious! Now (as other reviewers have said) I have to try to perfect the pretty part! I think following the directions correctly will help! :) thanks so much for this recipe - even taking into account the messed up batches, its still cheaper to make it yourself!

Chicken Spinach Quiche

I followed the recipe exactly except I used havarti cheese. Wow. This is definitely going to replace my previous recipe! So delicious, so light, so perfectly seasoned. Sometimes the simplest meals are the best!

Light Oat Bread

This bread is the perfect sandwich bread - not the best for just eating hot with butter (since those are best all fluffy and squishy, or crusty like french bread), but for sandwiches these are great, since you want something firmer without big air pockets that will take the beating of being bumped around in a lunch box all day! Still soft and delicious, though! This was just what I was looking for... now to find the perfect bread machine french baguette... :)

Swedish Meat Pies

This recipe is INCREDIBLE!!! I don't know what they're supposed to taste like, but I don't care. These are SO tasty, and so budget-friendly. This is my husbands new favorite dinner - he loves how hearty they are and he loves bringing them to work for lunch since they're just as good re-heated. Here's a few tips to help it turn out just right. I made it just the same as the recipe, but the dough ended up needing eight tablespoons of sour cream instead of six - otherwise it was too crumbly and even if I got it rolled nicely, it would crack when I folded it over. Also, when you've sauted your filling ingredients, taste test them to be sure you've got enough spices. My spices were a bit old so I needed a bit more of each. Also, when stuffing your pies, I found that it works better to put a little less in each (I froze my extra filling for super-quick pies next time!) and that way they don't bubble out of their crusts during baking. Also it helps not to mound up the filling too much but to press it flat to keep the crust from cracking when you fold it over. I sealed mine well by using a fork to press around the edges. Maybe this all seems obvious to some of you, but for those new to meat pies, I hope it helps the process go more smoothly. The good news is, they all tasted great, misshapen or not! :)

Deluxe Waffles

This recipe was delicious! Even in my cheepo waffle iron they were super fluffy with a tiny bit of crisp on the outside. Perfect! I made half a recipe, and it was just right for two hungry people - I ate two, my husband ate three (he gives it a seven star rating!). Thanks!

T Bird's Beef Jerky

Thank you - This recipe is great! Tastes like store bought but w/out the chemicals! The only things I changed were to add about 10-20 squirts of liquid smoke, and I also just hung them right on the oven rack - since the oven doesn't get really hot for jerky, the rack isn't too hard to clean. Delicious!!! Thanks to all of you who suggested halving the butter. As it was it was plenty rich. My husband loved this dish, and so did I - I agree with Steff T that it looks fancy like a restaraunt dish! I had to thicken the sauce a little, as many of you did. With the suggested alterations, definately a five-star recipe!
