Queenie's Killer Tomato Bagel Sandwich

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2009
i've been eating these for years,a friend made it for me once, I love it. I just wanted to add that hot peppers flakes in between the cream cheese and the tomatoes are awesome at breakfast time because they somehow bring out the flavor of coffee. The heat from the pepper flakes... and the different heat from the coffee... and some smokiness happens...VERY NICE>.

Easy Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
these are very tasty cookies. I didn't give it 5 stars because they are a little cake like for me,and I like a lemon cookie that's a little tart. However, the look lovely, and they are very lemony, just not tart. I will make these again.

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2007
I made these with honey and 100% whole wheat flour + 1/4 cup of vital gluten, I sprinkled flax seeds, pumpkin seeds and some grated parmesan (3 flavors, not everything bagels) and on the 3 different types I sprinkled a little black pepper and salt. They were awesome. I've tried other recipes but Im sticking to this one. We moved to N.C. from N.Y.C,let me tell you Im glad I can make my own bagels now.

Carrot Cheesecake Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
wow! the are wonderful, not too sweet. I made a few changes,I didn't have butter ,so i used canola oil,I also used 1 cu whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup wh wh pastry flour and I didn't have walnuts so i put some cranberries in the batter. They turned out SOOO GOOD! I imagine they would taste even better with butter. I also made a crumb topping to sprinkle on top, didn't need it but it was nice. I will make these again and again and Im e-mailing the recipes to my friends.since I wrote this review I made them once more, following the recipe w/o changes and they turned out irresistible, we couldn't stop eating them until they were gone. Fabulous!

Brown Sugar Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I loved this recipe. These are like biscuits or scones not like the soft chewy cinnamon bun ,the texture,is kindda crispy. i made them with half whole wheat flour, and half canola oil and butter and they were lovely cozy little treats. I will certainly make these again often.

Sicilian Ricotta Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 31, 2006
i have to agree with another reviewer that the cake was a little bland. Next time i will add raisins and double the zest, even add lemon zest.I liked that it waasn't too sweet(i took a reviewer's suggestion to cut the sugar a bit). it's a good starting point recipe to experiment with, but on it's own...it needs a little something for me.

Oatmeal Whole Wheat Quick Bread

Reviewed: May 18, 2006
WONDERFUL recipe. the texture is great and i thought the flavor was also very good. the only changes I made were to add 1/2 tbs more of honey (i wanted a whole wheat bread not a sweet bread) and a tsp of guar gum to help lighten the bread. it came out much better than i expected. don't grind up the oatmeal to a powder, just break it up a little ,it gives the crust an extra crunch but the inside stays soft. I imagine the variations some other reviewers suggested, adding fruit, making it sweeter, adding cinnamon, would also taste good, and i will experiment later on myself. The original recipe is terrific.
