Curry Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2013
This was good. I didn't bread the pork and baked it in a dutch oven with the lid on which helped preserve the amount of sauce. I added some lemon juice and a few splashes of fish sauce to give it more flavor. Turned out great and a wonderful meal for a cold winter evening.

Slow Cooker Cassoulet

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2013
This was a great! i took the advice of others and added 1 cup of chicken broth plus 1 bay leaf. i used 2+ chicken breasts and 2 large boneless thighs and cooked on low for 7 hours (2 pounds of chix would have been too much). No need to cut the chicken, it ends up breaking up easily once it's cooked. i subbed dried parsley for the fresh. With the added broth, it turns out more like a hearty stew.

Zesty Beef Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
Flavor was good and gravy was excellent, but I cooked my 2.5 lb roast in a crock pot on high and it was well done after 3 hrs. Thank goodness it makes a lot of gravy. Next time will try cooking on low.

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2012
This was really good, easy, and not spicy for those that don't like heat. I took advice from others and subbed 1 can of corn and 1 can of navy beans (white) for the kidney beans. I also subbed a can of diced tomatoes for one on the soup cans.

Easy Creamy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2011
this was a great easy meal although i took the advice from others and generously seasoned the pork with lemon pepper seasoning. then i combined 1 can cream of celery with 1 can of cambell's golden mushroom soup. it made a wonderful gravy that was nice with rice.

Marinated Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
best shrimp i've ever made and my only regret was not having more (only had 1 lb on hand instead of 2). followed the recipe to a tee and it was perfect, i wouldn't change a thing for next time.

Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
great recipe for chicago-style beef. i did a 3 lb roast on low for 10 hours. most of the beef shredded with no problem although i'll probably cook on low for 11-12 hours next time.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
we liked this dish, but found it a bit plain on it's own. a splash of fresh lemon juice or maybe apple sauce would have helped spruce it up. it would also be good with pasta and marinara.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
recipe 'as is' would be a 4-star, but when you add onions to the bottom of the pan under the roast, it becomes a 5-star. the onions carmelized in the marinade and were delicious on top of the pork. 1-hour in the oven was perfect. served with boiled red potatoes for a very healthy meal.

Jerre's Black Bean and Pork Tenderloin Slow Cooker Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
this was very good and healthy. i cut up the pork into cubes before cooking to avoid having to do it later. only other aleration i made was to add a can of green chilis. i also used a cilantro flavored salsa. 10 hours on low in crock. for added texture, top chili with crumbled tortilla chips just before serving.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
this was delicious. i added a hefty spoonful of crushed ginger (the kind that comes in a jar) for extra flavor and also used garlic from the jar as well instead of powder. it's the lazy way of going 'fresh'. cooked on high for ~3 hours, added peppers ~20 minutes before the end to avoid soggy veggies. yum!

Artichoke Spinach Lasagna

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I doubled the recipe as one user suggested to give it more height and used fresh spinach. Didn't pre-cook the noodles and let it sit in the fridge overnight which softened the noodles naturally. The recipe wasn't at all watery, but it did require an extra 45 minutes of cook time in the oven. delish!

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
I made a beef version of this recipe. Used chuck meat (~3 lb), 1/2 c. beef broth instead of chicken, plus added a can of diced tomatoes with green chilis. 11 hours in the crock and it turned out fabulous. even better the next day!
