About this Cook
Mom could make 1 lb of hamburg feed a family of 7. Was never taught to cook but learned from watching her while I was doing my homework. Osmosis I guess.
My favorite things to cook
Sunday dinner - never know who will be there but always enough for everybody. Roast, slow cooker, munchies for sport games, picnic tidbits - all of the above.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Unwritten family recipes (that I've since tried to write down - spaetzle is a favorite along with bricciole (spelling is an issue here)
My cooking triumphs
The casserole or soup that came out of the fridge and were awesome but you would never get again because it all depended on what was leftover!
My cooking tragedies
One of my leftover uses to make a stew. Even I couldn't eat it! Now that's sad! What a waste of good food.

Stuffed Artichokes
Exactly how Grandma, Mom and I have made them for years with the exception of the Oregano which we don't use.

Spaetzle and Chicken Soup
We call this Hunky Soup. The spaetzle batter we make is slightly thinner and won't make a ball but the concept and ingredients are the same. Wonderful addition to soup instead of noodles. Makes for a heartier meal! We also leave the celery in the soup for more vitamins(?).

Golden Pork Chops
Definitely a keeper! Delicious! I didn't have Season Salt and just used salt & pepper and 2 cans regular cream of mushroom soup and it was still something my family raved over. Next time I might try a little wine in the gravy mix. Might be better but might not. It's a great recipe and extremely easy!
