This recipe has some Potential but needs to be worked on ... So ,I tried making it the way we make Indian Curry with Thai Blends ,can call fusion sorts.made paste of Fresh ginger, garlic 4 cloves, some fresh coconut meat ,and almonds 6 and little coconut milk (just enough to rotate the grinder).Sauted the onions in 1-2 tbs of canola oil ,then added the paste and fried it for 5 mints at low, added water 1/2 cup and covered and cooked ,added 1 tbs Indian red pepper powder + 1/2 tbs Coriander powder+baby carrots ,some cauliflower florets (all precooked) at this point added fish fillets and lastly some frozen peas.It took 10 mints after adding fillets to done the Curry.thanks!!

Indian Mustard Fish

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2006
just to add that mustard being crushed in the bowl like that will be bitter always.originally people in bengal use a special grinder of a stone make to grind mustard to make mustard fish(bhappa ilish). add cumin powder also pls.just try grinding 3 tbs mustard with some 2 tbs peanuts and1/2 tbs(adjust salt later in the gravy) salt in a mixer,(can increase the content to help rotate the grinder, refigerate the leftover and use for a gravy paste to another one)it will not match the original taste but it will be not bitter, and who are allergic to peanuts they can use cashews instead.another method my mother-in-law do is ,she make dry mustard powder in bulk in a grinder about 7-8 tbs of mustard.(or enough to make rotate the grinder) and when the fish is done(steamed fish) add mustard powder+green chily paste+cumin powder+turmeric powder+bit of salt+red pepper powder+oil+water to make a smooth paste add at the end and cook for 5 mints .

Noodles Mexicana

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2006
absolutely delecious !! happy to find mexican dish without cheese , scaled it to 4 servings and made some changes , added 4 cloves of garlic instead, 1 fresh tomato large, added 1/4 cup of frozen corn+1/4 cup of frozen peas instaed of canned ones , and 1 tbs of hot and spicy taco seasoning, 1 jalapeno for spice, but didnot add beef , so it was a vegetarians delight. made the egg noodles first and then added the prepared mixture gravy to the cooked noodles .lastly didnot had sour cream so thought of plain yogurt as a substitute. thanks for avery tasty recipe.

Curried Apple and Leek Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2006
This is the first time that I have tried making leek. But I dont see apple and curry powder go together well. Its ahealthy soup, made some changes added 1 1/2 cups of broth and didnot puree it in blender.there were plenty of chunks of leeks /potato/but I could hardly taste apple. So, next time I wont add apples .May be adding spinach and some tomatoes will work.I had mine served with plain cooked rice.thanks for a healthy soup recipe.
