Irish Cream Creme Brulee

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Now this was incredible!!!!! What a great recipe. really important to follow the directions, especially when tempering. 3 tablespoons of the hot cream mixture at a time to the egg mixture and wisk at the same time. the creme brulee was so creamy and what an incredible flavor. I made 12 ramekins and our guests went crazy. They were really impressed when I pulled out my torch that I purchased at bed bath and beyond just for this dish. Used raw sugar to make the candy carmelized coating. Thank you for a truly incredible desert.

Captain Crunch Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Okay guys I got it. This recipe rocks!!! I read some of the reviews on this recipe and the one thing I noticed is when people said that they had a problem making the captain crunch stick to the chicken. Well I solved it! On this site there is a recipe for oven fried chicken. the recipe calls for crushed ritz crackers and mayonaise, yes mayonaise. Well after cooking it I found that it really makes sense. Mayo is an oil and it helps the crushed crackers stick to the chicken. Well that is exactly what I did here. I crushed the captain crunch in a blender and coated the chicken (bone in)with the mayonaise and then coated it with the captain crunch and basically oven fried it like shake n bake for 45 min. and BAM! there you got it, captain crunch oven fried chicken. The flavor it incredible, if you choose to make this, do like me and get past the mayo, make it and enjoy it. Trust me your family will love this.

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
This is a really great red beans and rice recipe. I followed the directions and also followed the advice of others. I added 2 hamhocks and used 4 cups of chicken broth and 2 cups of water when cooking the beans. I also made golden sweet corn bread and a peach pie (also from this site) and finally got to use my new rice cooker. Again thanks for a great recipe, my family loved it. Oh and don't forget to pick up a bottle of picka peppa sauce. When you add a few dashes to your bowl it really adds to the flavor.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
You know I once tried to make a coconut cream pie from a cool whip and jello instant pudding recipe and it came out awful. I mean it was beyond awful. A mud pie from my backyard would have tasted better. It was watery and I will never ever attempt to do it again. NOW THIS RECIPE IS TO DIE FOR!! I followed the directions as followed and made my own whipped cream with powdered sugar and a half pint of whipping cream. My son and daughter and a few friends really enjoyed this and could not believe I actually made this. Thank you Carol an outstanding recipe, truly enjoyable. 5 stars is not enough. :)

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2012
You know I accidentally bought pork steaks and could not use a 9x13 pan.so I used a roasting pan and doubled up on the gravy mix. People, trust me , this is the only baked pork chop recipe we will use from here on. with mashed potato's corn and pillsbury flaky biscuits you will never go wrong. The gravy left over from the mixture will be perfect for the tater's . I recommend sweet corn on the side... :) Thank you for a great recipe that we will use on a regular basis from now on... :)

Buche de Noel

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2014
Okay first of all you really need to take a lot of the other reviewers advice. Made this twice, first time did not turn out well. Second time it came out perfect. You really need to beat the egg yolks for at least 6 minutes. The more you beat them the more air will get into them. The chocolate whipped cream was a major plus. I also added chopped walnuts before rolling. If you don't beat the eggs long enough the cake will not be spongy and light. Thank you for an incredible recipe !!! And thanks to the all recipe folks for the how to video. I would never have taken on the challenge if it wasn't for the video. Well done !!!
