These are great - just like date squares only I don't like dates much so mincemeat is a nice change. The best part is the yummy oatmeal base and top!

Wow these are fabulous! I used to occasionally buy one but bought ones were never very good. Finally made them yesterday even though coconut and walnuts aren't my favorite. However, everything goes together so well in these bars that I'll put up with coconut and walnuts! I have made them for Christmas and hope they make it over to my sister's. Had a sample yesterday just to see how they turned out and they are absolutely delicious. Thought of using a smaller pan but glad I didn't. The graham cracker crust is a little thin but bars are quite sweet and rich and if the crust and toppings were too thick they'd be too over the top. Perfect as is. Thankyou so much for this recipe!

Wow - these are FABULOUS! I'll never buy them again now that I can make them myself with this great recipe. The lemon is a perfect consistency and nice and tart and the crust is rich and delicious. I baked the crust a little too long (a habit of mine) so some of the bars were a little hard to get out of the pan. But didn't affect the taste! Yummy - thanks!!
