Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
The best pie crust recipe hands down! You may not be able to get 4 crusts out of this recipe, depending on the thickness.

Olive-Cucumber Finger Sandwiches

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
This is my new favorite sandwich. I did not marinate the cucumber and added more worchestershire, garlic powder and onion salt to the cream cheese and mayo. I used both potato bread and sourdough... both were equally delish!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
I did not use the sugar or preserves and it was still amazing. I sprayed my cutting board with butter and put one tortilla on it then sprayed the top of that one and stacked another, each time spraying only the top as the bottom would butter itself from the top of the tortilla underneath. I then cut fajita size tortillas into 4 wedges and dredged them in a mixture of 1 tablespoon to 1 cup of sugar. It's important not to get too much butter or the tortillas will have too much sugar and will burn easily.

Mini Ham And Cheese Rolls

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
These were a huge hit at the bridal shower I hosted. Next time I will brush on the mustard/butter mixture and sprinkle on the poppy seeds and minced onion so that I can better control the quantity as the poppy seeds were a little overpowering. I used Hawaiian rolls and sliced the entire package in half then folded one slice of ham per roll and topped with 1/2 a slice of cheese. After the sandwiches baked I pulled them apart and arranged them on a platter.

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2010
I can't give a recipe 5 stars unless it's perfect without alteration. The basil was too much and potatoes too few. I do like that it's a stock base as opposed to pure milk/cream. Will probably make it again but with several changes.

Creamy Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
This is an excellent pumpkin pie. I always use fresh sugar pumpkins. If you're using canned pumpkin then you are missing out!

Homemade Pancake Syrup

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
This is a good syrup. Next time I'll follow other reviewers recommendation for using only brown sugar. I added pecans and cinnamon at the end and that bumped up the flavor a bit.

Easy Granola Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
The first time I made these I followed the recipe exactly. The second time I omitted the chocolate chips and almonds and added wheat germ, pecans and raisens. We liked them better the second time around but these are great bars nonetheless.

Wheat Germ Whole-Wheat Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
I omitted the oil and used a buttermilk made of 2 cups fat free milk and 2 tablespoons vinegar. These are AMAZING pancakes! Our kids loved them, too. I served them with the Homemade Pancake Syrup, which needed a little doctoring but was pretty delicious.
