Extreme Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2013
I took to Christmas get together. I tasted a bite and it was dry. Everyone I asked that tasted it said yes it was dry. Icing was good. I've had better bought cake mixes without all the work, I made Aunt Joyce's last year and it was very good

BBQ Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2013
You don't need to form log if you use loaf pan. The wetness described will cook away by adding 10-15 minutes and be really moist. Dryness is biggest complaint of meatloaf. I add cheddar cheese down middle. the best meatloaf I ever ate was cooked in electric skillet if you have one. granny with 50 yrs meatloaf experience

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2013
This is a great convenient recipe and easy to double. As a Texan I thought it needeed more spice. I upped the chili powder and cumin about a Tbl. I added 2 Tbls. cilantro last two hours. Didnt have taco chips in house so broke up fritos in soup and it thickened the soup and added great flavor. Got lots of compliments. Thanks for a keeper.

Easy Paella

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2012
My granddaughter and I ate this in Spain and it was very close. The consistency wasnt exactly like what we had as it was more like an American casserole but I used a large wok and put under the broiler for about a minute. It then had the sticky wonderful consistency we had in Spain. Prior to this I never liked Paella. I'm making it again for the second time and will continue

Brunch Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
I would have rated a 5 but the egg mixture did not cover the enchiladas. My solution was to remove after cooking for 20-30 minutes or just before the enchalidas brown on top. I took the back of a spoon and pushed down till egg mixture moistened the enchalidas. They were fine but the next time I will make one and half the egg portion. The taste was really excellent and and different than the usual sausage fare everyone makes. Good for Christmas breakfast that can be put together ahead.

Caramel Heavenlies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
just great but the recipe from the 50s says to sprinkle the nuts over the cookie then pour topping which makes the mixture hold the nuts in place. I always used pcans but his is great.

Mediterranean Seafood Salad

excellent wouldn't change a thing. I cant believe people give a low rating after they have not followed the recipe. Those people should keep their comments to themselves or send their own recipes in. Jt's rude

Pigs in a Blanket

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2011
I have made these for years with crescent rolls but this is a lot less expensive especially if you need a bunch. I am making them Sunday for a Easter Service and need quite a few. The only tip I have learned over the years is microwave your sausage about a minute and drain. No more soggy piggies.

Brazilian Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2011
I made this for a recipe group of 6 women who have met for over 9 years. It was a hit. I thought the taste was so unusual and so wonderful I will cook this often. My husband was not crazy about it for the lack of meat so I will add more meat to his portion. One of the best recipes ever.

Easy Pumpkin Cream Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
This recipe has an error in it. You are supposed to put the pumpkin in the pudding. That is why several have not had enough filling. The pumpkin does not go in the cake mix. If done correctly this is a five star.

Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2010
I believe the reason the potatos are not cooking is they should be defrosted before cooking. This will also enable some of the water to leave making the seasoning more pronounced. Great recipe

BLT Wraps

very good. I did one thing to make a pretty presentation. I rolled up without the tomato and cut each tortilla in 8 pinwheels. I placed a grape tomato in the center of each. Looked like a professional deli order. It's a keeper

B.L.A.T. Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
great recipe. Just learned on one of the cooking shows that you cook bacon on a cookie sheet or grilling pan in 400 degree oven around 20 minutes. Comes out perfect with little mess. Just be sure to watch as time could vary.
