After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
Soooo comforting and satisfying! This is a new after-thanksgiving tradition in our house. I followed the recipe to the letter. Make sure to stir the soup quite often though, as the rice has a tendency to stick to the bottom.

Cherry Pie III

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
It was a good pie. I was hoping it would be THE best. I used 5 cups of frozen cherries with the last cup being added after the cooking process. Right before I covered the pie with the top crust, I added an additional T. of butter. I didn't use this crust recipe because I have a go to recipe that everyone says is the best they've ever had.

Best Brownies

They're ok. Not sure what all the fuss is about. I prefer Brooke's Bombshell brownie recipe far and above this one.

Easy and refreshing! I didn't add as much dill because I'm not really a fan of it.

YUM! Made it as is minus the1/2 and 1/2. I just topped it with whipped cream. I used my hand blender to make sure there were no lumps.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2009
These cookies aren't even close to a 4 or 5 star cookie. They taste like refrigerated cookie dough. I get so angry wasting time and ingredients on recipes that don't turn out to be as good as expected. I should have never tried anything but my tried-and-true recipe. The cookies bake up misshapened. The flavor is ok, but I'm not really a fan of the texture. They are crispy and crackley.

Cheesecake Brownies

Delicious and very easy. I needed a way to jazz up the box mix and this was perfect. I topped them with sliced and fanned strawberries. I took them to a dinner and they went really fast.

Neiman Marcus Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
This is a fairly decent cookie. I did like the crisp outside with the tender middle. The flavor was good. However, I and others consider myself to be a master cookie baker and have a cookie recipe that runs circles around this one. Though an enjoyable cookie, it will not send you swooning or make you hum.

Vanilla - Chocolate Powdered Sugar Frosting

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
Perfect as-is! I omitted the chocolate because I was making white cupcakes. It turned out perfectly smooth and creamy with a fabulous taste...not too sweet at all! I doubled the recipe and was able to pipe 24 cupcakes generously.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
My family went crazy! I had trouble getting them to eat anything else on the plate. I made this recipe in my stand-up mixer, proofing the yeast first. I added no extra flour and let the dough get kneaded on the hook for about 5 minutes on slow. My kids came downstairs saying it smelled exactly like "Macaroni Grill" and they were right! The best dinner loaf I've made and is my go to recipe to accompany italian meals.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
I wanted to give this recipe 5 stars because my dish turned out so well, but decided on 4 stars because I put my own spin on it that made it 5. Firstly, I doubled the recipe because I was cooking for a crowd. I then added an additional pound of pasta for a total of 2 lbs. I added a cubed 2lb. block of velveeta when I added the other cheeses. Do not be afraid of adding the cottage cheese. It blends in seamlessly. Also, I would recommend adding the sharp and velveeta when the pasta is hot and fold until nearly all melted and then add the remaining ingredients. It was sheer perfection and everyone went nuts! I really appreciate the recipe, because it is a wonderful base to build on.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
Undeniably the best crust out there. I knew when I was putting the ingredients together that this was a dough that would be easy to work with. I only added some italian seasoning and garlic powder. It rose beautifully and rolled out so smooth. I will never, ever use a different dough recipe. Well done Jay!
