Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
I used vegetable broth and put it in first before the chicken. I only used one can of biscuits. The only problem I had was my biscuits weren't done after 40 minutes. If I make again I'll have to plan extra time for them to fully cook. Definitely push the biscuits under and coat them when putting them in.

Chocolate Mint Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
these were great! very easy to make! I did pop the chocolate mix into the freezer to cool it down quickly because I was worried I'd scramble the eggs. For those who complain about flat cookies, make sure you don't use a mixer! It's imperative to mix by hand!

Holland Boterkoek

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2008
This is AMAZING! Incredibly easy and such a great taste. A wonderful change from the standard cakes... I cooked for exactly 35 minutes and it was perfectly done. Please note the sides turned a golden brown but the top does not brown up so don't use that as your measure :) This stays at the top of my recipe box.

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
I melted the butter on the stove and just added the peanut butter in. After everything melted I added the other ingredients in. Firming the peanut butter in the fridge before adding the chocolate top is a must.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2008
I'm very impressed with the recipe! I did not modify this in any way and it was very well received.. people were shocked that zucchini was in it! For the people that said the batter was dry, I did not have that problem. I did not "ring out" my zucchini though, and the batter got moist when I folded the zucchini in. Will keep this at the top of my recipe box.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
I used garlic salt versus powder. These were very good. Next time I'll add more spices... I was pretty light handed and as the "most helpful" review states, when baking the spices lose flavor.

Penne with Spring Vegetables

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
I love how simple and healthy this recipe was! I will definitely make it again. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was it was bland. I'll either cook the veggies with some garlic or add in some italian spices. But it's a great base recipe that you can alter to your taste. Thanks so much for the great recipe idea!

Spinach and Tortellini Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I used fresh baby spinach (uncooked) more tortellini and Wishbone's Robusto Italian salad dressing. Husband was leery at first but ended up getting seconds and saying he would like to have this again. PLEASE NOTE!! The recipes states "use enough salad dressing to coat". It DOES NOT SAY use the whole bottle. Please read the recipe before giving it a bad review.

Graham Cracker Crust II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2007
I used 16 whole graham crackers (meaning 16 sheets, 4 rectangles per sheet) graham crackers and 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter. Make sure to finely crush them!

Candy Cane Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I used white chocolate morsels and melted them in the microwave. About halfway through the melting process I added the milk. I also used a full teaspoon of extract. I did not do the swirls, and it is still a very pretty candy. Will make again!

Oreo™ Cookie Bark

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2007
I made this using white chocolate morsels. I broke the Oreo's into fourths by hand and it turned out great. Very quick and easy to make. Will make again!

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2007
I did have anysoy sauce so I substituted. I also added in a small amount of honey. I wish I had made more sauce, I just had enough. Overall very good-- I will make again for an easy dinner.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
Very easy for a beginner like myself. I cooked a smaller cut of meat for a shorter amount of time but left the liquids the same. It came out just as expected. My only complaint is that it's slightly boring. Maybe I'll serve with different veggies than the traditional carrots and potatoes next time.

Pumpkin Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2007
Brought this to a Fall themed bridal shower at work. Served in in a sugar pumpkin with saran wrap protecting it from the pumpkin. Everyone raved about it, esp. with the ginger snaps -- I liked it better with apples. There was some left over...I'd probably half the recipe next time. No problems with cream cheese lumps. Did microwave it on 50 for a few seconds, though.

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2007
I love simple recipes that don't involve much work but have people claiming that I'm an amazing cook. I also used a cheaper cut of meat (pork butt) and used maybe a tad less than the whole bottle of bbq sauce. I've already passes this recipe along to several people I know.

Garden Veggie Pizza Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2007
I omitted the green onions, but otherwise followed to a T. This would make a really great appetizer -- I think I'll serve it to the boys on football night (it would get them to eat some more veggies!)

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2007
After looking through some reviews I made the following changes: no sugar with the fruit, peach fruit preserves. blackberries instead of raspberries (for color), golden apples added last to prevent browning, sprayed both sides of the tortilla/cut with a pizza knife, dredged in cinnamon sugar. Overall this turned out pretty well. Everyone seemed to like it, but no one was jumping for joy (like I had expected from the reviews). I can't hold it aganist the receipe since I did make changes, and I will for sure make this again. My only problem was the salsa was a little juicy. The chips were great and I'll use those for other recipes!
