Cod with Italian Crumb Topping

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
The topping was fantastic. The fish on the other hand was not so good. I'll have to try this again with a better cut of cod.

I cut these into smaller strips and added 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 teaspoon of onion powder. I absolutely loved these. They are a great way to get your family to eat healthier foods.

I really loved this recipe. My husband thought that it needed a bit more flavor. It was moist and tender. I really recommend this one!!

Candy Cane Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2007
I was only able to make about 2 pans worth of cookies out of this recipe (about 20 cookies). I guess I do like my cookies big! I have used this recipe before but it didn't have the candy toping. I couldn't get the candy to stay on top of the cookies at first. But as soon as the cookies cooled the candy stayed. I also added 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract. I feel like it could have used another 1/2 a teaspoon. Other than my issues with it this was a great recipe. My daughter and husband made sure they were gone by the next day!

Super Sausage Gravy

Great easy recipe. I love to make it on cold winter mornings! I use a low fat sausage instead. It tastes just as good but is less oily.

I loved this recipe. It turned out fantastic. I used 3 tbs. of honey instead of sugar and used 3 cups of regular flour, 3 cups whole wheat flour. They were great for breakfast and snacks.

Southern Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2007
I added 4 tbs. of chipotle tabasco and 2 cups of BBQ sauce. The flavor came more from the sauce than the meat.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

I doubled the recipe. Used less peanut butter (3/4 cup) and added 3 tbs. unsweetened coco powder. My family couldn't get enough of them.

Pork and Shrimp Pancit

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2007
I made this recipe for the second time last night and it came out better than the first. My whole family loved it including my picky eaters. I added 3 tbs. soy sauce and 2 tbs worcestershire sauce. I also add a few more tps. of ginger. I didn't have any redpepper flakes so I used cayenne and lemon pepper. Thanks for this recipe! It's one of my family's favorites!

Bread Machine Bagels

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
Revised: These were just like the bagels I used to get in Boston. I always double this recipe which means I have to use my kitchen aid instead of my bread machine. I let the dough rise for a 1/2 an hour, punch it down and repeat. After making the bagels into their shape I let them sit for an hour to make sure they are nice and fluffy. I usually get 9 large bagels. I used 2 tbs of molasses in the water instead of sugar. I also used olive oil glaze because the egg had a funny after taste

Jean's Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
This recipe was a great starting off point. I added half a large onion diced. 1 tsp of rosemary, 1 tbs. dried oregano, 1 tbs. dried basil, and 1 tbs dried parsly. I also added 2 bay leafs. After the soup was done cooking I added 1/2 cup of dried potato flakes to thicken up the broth. It turned out great. My 2-year-old daughter is a very picky eater and she had 2 servings!

Quick Quiche

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2006
This is one of the better recipes I have tried. Whatever ingredients you decide to use, I think the key is broiling it for 5 minutes after it is done cooking. It gives it a great brown crisp topping.

Best Ever Chicken Casserole

I have been making this recipe for years. The best part is there are so many different things you can do with it. Every time I make it I make a double batch and it almost always comes out different.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread I

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2006
Very yummy. The only thing I will change next time I make it is cutting the coco powder to 1 tbs. The chocolate over powered the zucchini but was still really good.
