Blueberry Oat Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2007
I gave these four stars because the basic recipe produced a very good cookie - it set up nicely and had a great, soft texture. I used frozen blueberries, and the juice of course turned the cookies blue, which I was expecting, but they also made it quite difficult to keep the cookies together - they kept falling apart while forming them. But I loved the combination of flavors, and think I will try these again with dried blueberries instead to prevent the juice from running and help keep them together.

Microwavable Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
Very good and easy. I had a craving for something sweet and this had so few ingredients that I already had everything in the cabinet! Perfect! Now if I could just stay out of it...

Soundview Crab Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
This was pretty good, but I'm still searching for my perfect crab salad recipe. One thing I did really like was that the amount of dressing was light compared to the amount of crab as I like to be able to taste the crab itself and not all dressing.

Garlic Cheese Flatbread

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2008
I have already made this twice since finding the recipe. This is very good and pretty easy to make, especially considering I don't bake that much. I liked the recipe because I already had all the ingredients, but it still turned into something special. I thought it was pretty garlic-y, which I love! I served with jarred marinara for dipping. Yum!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
This was very good. I love anything cranberry, so for me the sweet taste was not overpowering at all. I used pork tenderloin instead of the roast, and it came out very tender and juicy. My hubby really enjoyed it, too and we're looking forward to having leftovers tomorrow night!

Pecan Pie Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
I made these several years ago, and they were awesome! They're also made with ingredients that I normally have, so that could be a good or a bad thing - I don't need to be eating them too often!

Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2007
I thought these were pretty good, but the people I served them to loved them, so I give them 4 stars. I personally wanted more cinnamon flavor to them, but I am a cinnamon freak! I followed the recipe exactly, but then my dough would not hold together, so I had to use half of the beaten egg (for brushing) and that was enough to make it work. These are also good with a cinnamon glaze drizzled on top.

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
I was very pleased with this cake! I made cupcakes out of it and couldn't stay out of the batter alone. It's hard to find a homemade cake recipe that is not heavy and overly dense. I thought this one was perfect. The almond extract gives it that something special and the texture is nice and light. I did need the extra half cup of milk that other reviewers suggested, so thanks to everyone for recommending that! I am using a chocolate mousse frosting on these, but I plan to experiment with different toppings/fillings. I will definitely make this recipe again.

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This is a great recipe! It has a "homemade" taste, even though it uses the storebought crescent rolls. Definitely a crowd-pleaser! I could eat the whole pan! I don't change a thing and they turn out great.

Fresh Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
I made this and was disappointed. Pineaple Upside Down Cake, but I thought this was too heavy and a little dry. The flavor was decent, but I wasn't impressed. I think it's about a 3 star recipe, but...I'm giving it 4 stars because someone contacted me after trying it and said it was the best one they'd ever had! So maybe it was just my personal taste if others thought it was that good.

Taco Seasoning I

I made this exactly per the recipe and I thought it was very good! A lot of times spice mixes don't have enough flavor for me, but I thought this was great.

Szechwan Shrimp

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2008
I made this tonight and it was pretty good. I made it exactly as is and was pleased with the balance of flavors, it had a little bit of heat and a little bit of sweetness and very garlic-y! I added sugar snap peas and carrots and served over brown rice and me and the hubby ate every bit! I will most likely make this again.

Bananas Foster Chimichangas

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
These are fantastic! I can't believe something so simple and with so few ingredients could be so delicious. I didn't fry them but baked them in the oven after brushing them with an egg wash and sprinkling with cinnamon/sugar and they came out crispy. Yummo!!

Country Pumpkin Muffins

These are wonderful, they have a very moist texture and a great flavor. I substituted brown sugar for half of the regular sugar and cranberries instead of raisins, just for personal taste. They turned out great and were easy to put together.

Lemon Cream Cupcakes

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
These are excellent! The texture is perfect, moist and not too heavy. I do wish the cupcakes had more lemon flavor. I doubled the zest and the lemon was still very light. Next time I will add lemon extract. The frosting is DIVINE, I made extra and instead of lemon juice, I used Limoncello. I could have eaten the frosting on a boot it was so good! I will definitely make these again. They really hit the spot for my lemon craving.

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2009
I just made these for a Christmas Cookie Swap Party. They are great! I was skeptical because it seemed odd to spread icing on a cookie and then bake it, but it actually worked! The icing stays soft and covers the cherry, without running all over the place while it bakes. The cookie is nice and soft as well and has great flavor. I will definitely make these again; they would be great for Valentine's Day also!
