About this Cook
I am the proud mom of two kids, my daughter "M" 3yo and my son "R" 19mo. My husband and I work different shifts for our local police department, me as a 911 operator and my husband as a Deputy Sheriff so we don't have the family meal quite often. He is usually home w/the kids in the evenings while I am working and I am home during the day while he is working. Our schedule put a damper on meal times.
My favorite things to cook
I look for healthy, fast and slow cooker recipes. I hate the feeling that my husband and children will have to have "leftovers" for dinner so I perfer the slow cooker over a regular stove top meal unless I am off that day. My husband does more cooking than I do and it's by choice, his choice! I don't mind cooking, mostly by a slow cooker but I don't care for it nearly as much as he does and I don't know nearly as much about food as he does!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving at my Mom's house and Christmas Eve dinner, too!
My cooking tragedies
Almost everything...just kidding. I have had some, trust me...more than the 1000 characters max.

Vegetarian Chili
Very good! My husband didn't even know it was vegetarian; easy on the pockets and easy on the cook!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup
This recipe has been a fantastic addition to our dinner menus. We love it. I replace the beer w/water instead. I have many girlfriends and coworkers who have used this recipe and loved it, too. We just keep passing it on! Thanks Patti for the delicious, easy and inexpensive dinner!
