About this Cook
I am a married mom of two almost grown daughters (17 and 23 years old). I have four cats that I have dedicated my life to....LOL *just kidding - it only feels like I'm their slave!*
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles, slow cooker recipes, fast and easy recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother always made the BEST stuffed cabbage and roast beef. Try as I may, I cannot duplicate her recipes. She also made her own BBQ sauce when grilling, and I have tried (unsuccessfully!) to duplicate that recipe, too.
My cooking triumphs
Huh? I just cook whatever!!! I think my slow cooker turkey wings are the best thing I ever came up with. Everyone LOVES that recipe, plus it makes a relatively inexpensive but "tough" type of meat into a "fall off the bone" tender treat.
My cooking tragedies
The green meatloaf. My kids are STILL talking about it to this day. It was a Lentil Loaf, people!!!!!

Slow Cooker Sausage with Sauce
I make this all the time. It's my favorite way to make Italian sausage!! I add frozen meatballs to my mixture, cook all day in the slow cooker, then when I come home I simply cook up some whole wheat pasta and we have a delicious and hearty dinner!

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken
I love slow cooker chicken, and have been making this for years. Some of my variations include: Salsa chicken - take cut up chicken parts, lay them in the crock pot and pour a jar of salsa over it (use your favorite variety; Orange chicken - cut up an orange, squeeze the juice over the chicken and stuff the cavity with the orange rinds you just squeezed; BBQ chicken: place cut up chicken in crock pot and pour a cup of your favorite BBQ sauce over it. The possibilities are endless!
