Sourdough Bread I

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2013
This recipe turned out really well! I did not have a problem kneading it after it rose. I added and extra cup of starter and it was a bit sweet. MAybe a little less sugar next time. That being said, every started is going to be a bit different. Over all, a very successful baking experience. I should note, I am NOT and experience bread baker and found this recipe pretty easy to follow.

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2011
I received leeks in my green box and potato leek soup seemed like the obvious answer. Over all, this recipe was very good and easy to make. It does have way too much butter. Next time I will probably cut it in half.

Hot Buttered Rum Mix

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
I really liked this. I made it exactly as written. It was really sweet, but tasty. I do think that next time I will follow the recommendation of the other reviews and use more butter and less sugar. I think that would be better. I had never had Hot Buttered Rum before and I think that this was a nice, delicious introduction to this holiday treat.

5-Minute Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2010
The description for this recipe is 100% dead on. They really were as easy as box, and really do taste way better. I added walnuts, chocolate chips and marshmallows to the batter. They were amazing.

Easy No-Boil Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2010
I gave this 4 stars mostly out of ease. This is one of the easiest, fastest main dishes I have made off this site and it was GOOD. It wasn't creamy as others have mentioned, but it was still really tasty. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that mine came out really greasy. I think I will cut down the butter next time. I also added some pepper, because that is what I like. Otherwise, this is a great recipe for a busy night. Pop it in the oven and forget about it.

Just too sweet for me. I am sure some people would love it, but it is really, really sweet.

Cream Puffs II

Very good recipe. I followed it exactly, except I didn't need to scoop anything out because it was totally hollow when it finished baking.

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
I made this recipe exactly as written and it was really delicious. I really recommend it. I have never made a shortbread recipe without salt before, but I used 1/2 salted butter and it was great.

Perfect as is. I didn't change a thing and it was really delicious. I think this may be a new holiday tradition for my family.

Peanut Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
I only used 2 cups of sugar, but otherwise followed the recipe. This turned out really delicious and peanut buttery. We made chocolate cupcakes with this frosting on top and they tasted like peanut butter cups. Nummy.

Fresh Pear Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
We had a bag of pears dropped off at our house that needed to be used ASAP so I found this recipe. This was very good. I made a few changes based on my personal preferences. First I didn't peel the pears. I kept the skin on. I just like it better that way. I substituted butter for margarine (cause I don't like margarine and I LOVE butter) and allspice for cinnamon (because I am allergic to cinnamon). I also threw in some raisins because I just felt like it. It came out really nice.
