Baked Seafood Au Gratin

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Wow, I was very dissapointed. I had high hopes, however, it turned out really 'soupy' and just didn't have much too it. The taste was good, after I added lots of 'old bay' seasoning. I picked out and ate the shrimp but left the rest on my plate. Should be renamed "cheesy seafood dip". better luck to others. thanks

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2007
I followed the recipe closely, but made changes to the potatoes. I seasoned them with salt, cheese, butter, milk and prepared them as if I were making stuffed potatoes. Then placed it on top of the meat. I added some worchestire and garlic to the meat. Those are the only changes I made and turned out great.

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2007
I have always loved brunswick stew but never tried to make my own. This recipe is just as I would have hoped it would turn out. Perfect. One of the things I changed was I omitted the ground beef. I seasoned, cooked and pulled 3 boneless chicken breasts and added it to 1 pound of store bought pulled pork flavored with hickory bbq sauce. I cooked it all on low for 4 hours in the slow cooker, then added half cream corn and half regular canned corn, and cooked on low another 2 hours. I then removed the green pepper and discarded. Recipe turned out great! Will make again.

Individual Beef Wellingtons

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2007
I browned the filets for a minute or two on each side before wrapping them with the 'paste'. Everything went well, except the recommended 25 minute cook time. They were all really good and enjoyable after they were done; however, they were all WELL done. So if you like it WELL done, the 25 minutes is for you. otherwise adjust accordingly. Will make again soon, but cook half the time. And I will try to add a little bit of swiss cheese into the 'paste' as others recommended, just to give a little something extra.

Hearty Ham Casserole

I used half the listed amount of corn, added small can of (drained) mushrooms as well as 2 thinly sliced carrots. I loved this, and it made great leftovers as well. Can't wait to make again sometime

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
Made a few changes, but otherwise stuck to the recipe. I enjoyed it, however, the other half didn't care for it. I ended up eating it for a week, so I didn't mind.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2006
I overdid the marsala sauce and it was a bit too overwhelming. Other than that the chicken turned out great. I will make again.

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
Really Good, though I changed some things. Seasoned and browned the chicken on each side, then added half can of cream of chicken and a can of milk, mixed and let boil, then shreaded chicken. Steamed thinly sliced carrot and brocoli. Added veg's, shreaded chicken, remaining 1 and half cans cream of soup and small can of sliced mushrooms (drained) to broth left in pot from chicken. Mixed all well and placed in dish, topped with cheese and stuffing. Turned out great and will make this way again soon.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

My first time making my own pizza, and was not dissappointed. The preparation time was a little intensive, more than I would have thought. But it was SOO worth it when I sat down to enjoy this!! Will make again soon.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
Good, but a little soft and oily. Next time, right before I take them out, I will broil them for a few minutes, flip them and broil for a few more minutes on the other side. Otherwise a GREAT change to the usual mashed taters, etc.

Cheesy Italian Tortellini

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2006
I was not very impressed with this recipe. I had to add more and more sauce while this was cooking because it was getting dry. When done it was sort of bland and nothing really special. Maybe I was expecting too much and am being too harsh on this one, but I probably won't make again.

Cheesy Potato Soup II

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2006
I was so disappointed when I sat down to enjoy this. It was so bland. I followed the recipe as is and wish I would have seen the other reviews BEFORE making this. It turned out too runny, and I had to mash up some of the potatoes to thicken it. I had to add lots of salt and pepper to make it enjoyable. And the american cheese didn't really do it for this recipe. Cheddar, or Velveeta, would suit it better I believe. Definitely listen to the other reviews that suggest adding the other things, like chicken broth, etc., to spicen it up. I will try this recipe again; however, I will make many adjustments. It has great potential.

Honey Curried Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
Way to sweet for me, and I only added half the honey the recipe called for. I enjoyed it, hence the 4 stars, but won't make it again and it didn't make good leftovers. If you like sweet dinners, this is for you.

Kathy's Roast and Vegetables

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
This was excellent! I followed the recipe closely, but I found that if the potatoes and carrots were added in the last 2 to 3 hours, it prevented them from being too mushy. I had to remove the potatoes after the first 3 hours because they were already well cooked. Then put them back in at the end. Love pot roast, and I will make this one again!!

Gary's Stuffed Mushrooms

I made this for the first time and took it to a party. There was not one person there who didn't say something to me about these mushrooms! Everybody wanted the recipe. They were really great. I did use less butter than called for, much less. Followed directions otherwise.
