Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
These were SO good! My mother-in-law was visiting and I made these for dinner. She kept saying what good flavor they had. I used panko crumbs instead of bread crumbs...it's what I had in the pantry. My husband and his mother are not fans of gravy so I didn't cook them in the gravy...I just had it on the side. We will definitely make these again!

Quick Chicken Divan

Reviewed: May 20, 2009
Allrecipes picked dinner for me tonight based on an ingredient search so this is what we had. I used 2 cans of cream of chicken, 1 lb chicken and probably only a cup of cheese. I seasoned it with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and a little curry powder. We served it over brown rice. My 10 month old son LOVED it...he finished an entire bowl! My husband and I thought it was OK. We give it 4 stars because it was easy to make and it can be made completely with things we always have in the fridge or pantry.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
These were pretty good but not as good as I was hoping for. I would call them a little bland. I left out the onion because I'm not a huge fan. I may make them again but I'll try to think of a way to spice them up a little. We had them for Easter dinner with Ham, Green Beans, Crescent Rolls and Strawberry Trifle.

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
We made this tonight with venison. It was a tough old deer so we cooked it low and slow to help tenderize it. We cooked it for 2 hours at 300 degrees. Also, I used 1/2 cup of red wine instead of water and we served ours over rice. Yummy!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
This turned out pretty good but remember it's only as good as the BBQ sauce you use. We used Kraft Hickory Smoked because it was on sale. Next time I think we'll use a different sauce. I cooked it on high for 2 hours and low for 3 or 4 hours and it was tender. I've never had an easier time shredding anything! We served ours over baked potatoes with broccoli on the side. Yum!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
Very good pot roast! My roast was only 2.5 lb so I cooked it for 7 hours on low but it came out a little dry. It could have been the cut (we used venison) but overall it was really good.

Maria's Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This was pretty good overall. I made my own pasta sauce. I stuffed 5 chicken breasts and still had almost half of the stuffing leftover. I think it would have been better breaded like a chicken parmesan but we will definitely make it again.

Cheese-Garlic Biscuits

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
These are very close in taste to the Red Lobster biscuits but I wonder how Red Lobster keeps them from drying out. These are definitely only good right out of the oven. They do not taste good reheated.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
We were not impressed with this recipe. The chicken got real tender...it completely fell of the carcass but it was really dry. I cooked it for the 8 hours on low like the recipe said but I guess that was too long. I won't be making this again.

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
This was delicious! I had never had lentils before and this was so good. I had to use salsa instead of crushed tomatoes because it's all I had. I left out the spinach because I forgot to buy it and I left out the vinegar because I just forgot to put it in. Next time I'll definitely add the spinach and vinegar but it was wonderful without.

Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
Yum Yum Yum! We had a surplus of apples in the fridge (I seem to buy them every time I go to the store) so my husband asked for baked apple dessert. I used a combination of white and brown sugar, pecans instead of walnuts and omitted the raisins because I don't like them. We served it with light vanilla ice cream and it really hit the spot!

Oven Baked Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2009
This had really good flavor but turned out really mushy. I followed the recipe exactly (except I halved it). Next time I think I will either make it on the stove top or make the meat and tomato mixture then add cooked rice. My shrimp also got tough...I'll add them the last 15 minutes like suggested by another reviewer. For those of you thinking about making this on a weeknight...It's A LOT of prep work. It took me an hour to get the shrimp peeled, all the meats cut up and then get everything mixed together on the stove top. I only cooked it in the oven for about an hour.

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
We made this as written then topped it over safron rice. The next day we mixed this dish with the rest of the rice and used it as a filling for burritos. Yum!

Indian Chicken Curry II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
We had Indian food in a restaurant once in London and didn't like it very much. I decided we should try one more time just to make sure. I'm sure this excellent curry but I gave it three stars because we really didn't like it. The flavors are just so strong for our liking.

Naan

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2009
We loved this Naan!! I don't know if I made them too small but we had 20 pieces of bread. We liked it more than the curry we made to go with it. Really Good!

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
We added some bulk to the recipe to make it more filling. I followed the basic but added one can of drained black beans, 1 cup of frozen corn, used 2% mexican cheese and made a total of three layers. We cut it into 8 servings for about 360 kcal. Served it alongside spanish rice and a side salad. Yum!

Carrot Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I've had this recipe in my recipe box for 8 months and I finally got around to making it. I loved it! I'm a huge fan of basmati rice and the flavor with the onion, carrots and ginger is WONDERFUL! I didn't measure the cayenne pepper, I just estimated so next I will measure because it was actually more spicy than I thought it would be. This will definitely make our recipe rotation!

Eggplant -- Easy, Good and Tasty

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
I really didn't like this at all. I thought it was really bland and pretty dry. Maybe I'm not a huge fan of eggplant but I think I'll try to find another recipe. I won't make this again.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2009
Really easy and good recipe. I didn't bother boiling the sauce on the stove...I just mixed it all together in the 9X13 pan, turned to coat and baked the chicken turning every 10 mintues. I only had 6 chicken thighs so there was more than enough sauce. I added red pepper flakes to make it a little spicy and I used 2 Tbsp of brown sugar instead of 1/2 cup white sugar to cut some calories.

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
Made this tonight for husband and friend. We were all pleasantly surprised and agreed it was the best cauliflower we've ever eaten that wasn't smothered in cheese sauce. We didn't have parmesan cheese....might be even 5 stars with the added cheese.
