Lower Fat Banana Bread II

Reviewed: May 26, 2012
Delicious and moist made just as written. No need to change a thing. (Pet peeve: Don't change a bunch of stuff and then give it a lesser rating! That's just ridiculous to say the least.) Rate the recipe based upon the actual recipe!

Seafood Salad III

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2012
If made as the recipe states it is WAY too mayonnaisey! I should have read all of the reviews before making this. Next time I will use 1/2 cup of mayo instead.

Linda's Lasagna

It was just okay - not much flavor at all and I even doubled the spices.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage

Delicious! I used sun-dried tomato chicken sausage and it was fabulous! I also used more garlic and some Italian seasoning.

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Pretty good. Very similar to the one in my very old Betty Crocker cookbook but I prefer that one. The BC recipe makes a taller loaf (same size pan) and is more flavorful. This is nice and moist-just not my favorite.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Delicious and easy! I used a mix of frozen berries and couldn't be happier. I'll definitely make this again. (Followed the recipe to a T.)

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
Delicious! No need to change anything - the recipe is perfect as is. The dough was not dry, or crumbly at all. (Probably because I did not add extra flour like many are doing for some reason.) Keep in mind that if you start changing everything - as many seem to have done - it's a new recipe folks! As mentioned before, I followed the recipe to a T, they took exactly ten minutes to cook and came out crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. My entire family + all the neighborhood kids thoroughly enjoyed these.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2009
This is really quite good. It was easy and I happened to have all of the ingredients on hand which is the main reason I decided to make it. I only used 1/2 the bag ofd chocolate chips and thought it was still delicious. I also omitted the nuts (allergies). It not the prettiest to look at, but the taste makes up for that.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
These are truly the best sugar cookies! Like with everything, peoples tastes are different. I have the exact opposite opinion of reviewer Christi. (In fact today I purposely went back and read all the reviews of the BRSC recipe to find others who were not fond of it and then looked at which sugar cookie they rated higher. The consensus was this Soft Christmas cookie.) Last week I made the highly rated Best Rolled Sugar Cookie and found them extremely bland, tasteless, and cake-like. (Thanks goodness for Buttercream Icing!) The dough was also far too sticky and therfore very difficult to roll out. This recipe to me is far superior. I followed other reviewer suggestions and used only 3 cups of flour, butter instead of margarine, and baked at 350 for 8 minutes. Even without frosting or sprinkles these are very flavorful and roll out like a dream. My 7 year old actually rolled and cut-out more then I did. I will absolutely make these again.

Butter Icing for Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
This is a great recipe just like my mom always made. She didn't cook it on the stove though and just added melted butter to the mix. It's easy to work with and tasty. I much prefer this to icing made with creamed butter. Delicious!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
ITA with the others who said these were bland - they really were. I've made other much better, more flavorful, and better-textured sugar cookies. I will definitely not make thses again.
