Spicy Fisherman's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2009
This was very good! I only made a couple of adjustments. Taking a tip from another reviewer, I added broccoli. I used White Ruffy fish (very mild) and instead of adding milk to the potatoes, I added about 1/4 cup of the heavy cream. I have to agree with others that it did not have much flavor. I ended up adding some kosher salt and seasoning salt. Would defintely make it again!

Betty's Pork Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2006
Yummy!! I substituted spicy brown mustard and on the advice of others, just brushed the ketchup & mustard on the roast. I also boiled for about 10 minutes as was suggested and it was delicious!!

Porketta Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2006
This was amazing! I made a few changes to adjust to what I had on hand. I didn't have any fennel or lemon pepper, but used lime juice instead. On the recommendation of others, I mixed the herbs with some olive oil (roasted garlic) before rubbing it on the roast. Juice, spicy and delicious!! YUMM!

Meatloaf California

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
This was pretty good. I made only a few changes...yellow onion instead of red, BBQ sauce instead of liquid smoke, no mustard and no pepper. Hearty and filling but not really anything out of the ordinary.

Hamburger Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
I was rather disappointed with this. It was VERY easy to make, but the whole family agreed that it was really bland. I served it over biscuits and there was just not enough flavor. So sad...

Baked Cheesy Veggie Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2006
This was delicious!! The whole family loved it. I did tweak it a little because I did not have a few of the ingredients. I used sour cream instead of the creme fraiche, mozzarella instead of the emmenlater (swiss) cheese and water in place of the wine. Definetly planning to make this again!

Mexican Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2006
The whole family loved this! I didn't use any tomatoes, mostly because I didn't have them. Also, instead of boxed cornbread mix, I made a mix from scratch. It was wonderful and we will make it again. Although, I have to say, I did not enjoy it as a leftover...=).

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
I wish I loved this dish! I gave it a 3 star for ease of preperation, but I really didn't enjoy any amazing flavor. I served it over rice and it was okay, but I probably would not make it again.

Beef and Biscuit

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2006
This was yummy! I did make a lot of changes...I left out the sour cream and chili peppers. Instead, I added green bell pepper and corn. Since I did not have any tomato sauce, I used ketchup (sounds weird!), it gave it more of a BBQ flavor that turned out really good. I followed the suggestion of others and used croissant rolls, but only put a layer on top of the dish. All in all, it turned out great and there weren't any leftovers. Thanks!

Beef and Bean Chimichangas

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2006
We loved this! Even my finicky kids ate it!! I only made a few changes...instead of the taco sauce & spices, I used salsa. I added the beans to the meat mix and sprinkled the cheese after cooking and popped back into warm oven to melt & served with spanish rice. YUMM!!

LOVED this! Really easy and much more flavorful than I expected! I add chicken, used kernel corn and served with tortillas, very filling and made a lot.

Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2006
This was a great dish! I used real potatos and added green bell peppers and corn. Add a little extra cooking time (30 minutes) for the potatos, but well worth the wait.
