About this Cook
My husband and I both work full time and have four teenage children who are all involved in sports and school activities. We make an effort to share at least one family meal every day.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything, but my favorite dishes are the ones that cook "low and slow" like braises and soups, and I enjoy cooking outdoors in warm weather.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We try to create food memories and traditions to go with all special occasions in our family, and every holiday from Valentine's to Christmas. One of our favorites is our spring crawfish boil each May. We don't really enjoy dining out, it's usually disappointing.
My cooking triumphs
When my husband and I married, he had never had anyone cook for him so his tastes were not developed beyond frozen pizza and chicken tenders, and if asked if he liked this or that, the answer was "no". Because I love to cook, the limitations were discouraging. I finally stopped asking and just started cooking for him! The only things left on his list of dislikes now are olives and raw tomatoes-and I can live with that.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies
I made this to take to my mother-in-law's house for our family Christmas celebration and it was a hit. I made it exactly as directed and they turned out beautifully-crunchy top with a fudgy, chewy interior. Thanks for sharing!

Asian Lettuce Wraps
Tried this for dinner tonight and we loved it! We stirred the rice into the meat mixture as other reviewers have suggested (and only added about 1 cup of cooked rice). Thanks for sharing.
